Wassup everyone,

Old school wargamer coming back into the hobby and i just had a few questions that hopefully some of you may know the answers to.

I havent dedicated myself to a army/chapter yet but im kinda leaning towards either Salamanders or Dark Angels (mainly because im obsessed with green and i want units with high survivability) But something about chaos and orcs have caught my eye as well.

Out of those 4 it just seems logical that i should get the Dark Vengence set considering i need a 6th ed rules anyway.

But my plan is to spend every penny wisely, I want to make sure i use every bit to its fullest. I also plan on magnetizing every interchangeable bit of my army. From each arm on each space marine so when im looking at them i know that one has frags one has a bolter so on and so forth. I plan on this taking a long time to accomplish but it'll be worth it in the end. When i played before i played marines and i enjoyed magnetizing my dreads almost as much as i did fielding them.

What i wanted to ask is
1. Are the dark vengeance models able to be magnetized. I remember from the old starter sets they were very basic and clicked together.

2. Right now what are the play styles for salamanders and dark angels. For example what are some of their strengths and weaknesses.

3. Would you recommend staying away from any of the armies i listed or are they all pretty viable in 6th.

I really appreciate ANY information your willing to give, opinion or fact.

Thanks again and talk to ya soon

Happy hunting

Hey, welcome back!

to answer your quesions....

1: sadly, no D: at least not most. most are 2-3 peice models, with no extra peices, or options on stance, arm place, ect...
2: i would go with salmanders, i love them. there are really allot of builds for sallies, depends on what your going for (mech, drop lists, ect....)
3: i would try and stay away from orks. (sorry all you ork players.) while fun, they arnt that competitve.

hope that helps a bit,

Thanks for the reply ninja,

Salamanders is where i think id like to be. The only thing that was holding me back was i love the wings from the dark angels, and i feel like "back in the day" salamnaders were a super 'up close in your face flamer' kinda army.

Dont get me wrong if it wins it wins, but i dont wanna have a 1 trick pony kinda army. Thats the only thing keeping me from salamanders. But if there are a lot of builds for em then its def the chapter i wanna run.

(sry for the nubness still learning here)
