After checking out Dreadball on their website and Beast of War, I was thinking of giving it a try with a few friends who are not too big into Miniature Wargaming but would like to try it out?

How is Kick-off compared to the normal starter box set I see (or at least, I think it is still in production) if I once in a while want to add another team so me and my friends have more options to play with? Can I try to get the most out of those teams with Kick-offs rulebook or would the normal starter set be a better buy for what I have in mind?

Thank you.

Get the normal box. You will regret the kickoff version if you get it. You get 4 more models which isn't a huge deal, you get the hex bases, ref, 2 balls instead of 1, and the cards. The cards and ref add so much more depth to the game as well as the full league rules for leveling up your players. If you plan on any tournaments or leagues you will need the cards, ref, bases, and full rules. It will be cheaper for you in the long run getting the full box.

I figured that might be the case. Might be a little extra to dish out upfront, but from what it seems is that it might be a good deal for all of that.
