Hello, All:
After years of using this fine and informative site as a resource and inspiration for gaming and modeling conversion ideas, I've decided to take the plunge and join up officially.
I'm a moderately educated (read:in debt) wargaming nut and literary enthusiast living and working in southern California, USA. I've been wargaming since a tender age when I decided that my green army men should have rules that dictated who was "dead" and who wasn't. Since then I've branched out into pretty much every type of narrative wargaming, though I still keep my green army men in a box in the closet. School, work, and a recent marriage have curtailed my modeling and gaming time (no complaints about the marriage), so I mostly just browse other people's work and covet their skills. One day I would love to have a gaming den with a 10' by 10' multi-level table, but reality dictates that for now I play on the dinning table with paper-craft scenery and improvised terrain.
Right now Necromunda is my game of choice. I enjoy the game mechanics and the freedom to create pretty much anything my imagination can come up with. I use models and bits from any company that sells what I'm looking for, though pricing is obviously a factor in deciding what I buy (sorry, GW). My current gang is a platoon of Imperial Guard deserters who have gradually recruited from the local hivers. I'm also working on a gang of space raiders inspired by the reavers from Firefly using the fantasy orc sprue from Wargaming Factory.
That's a bit about me. I'm looking forward to rubbing shoulders with other gamers and picking up more modeling and painting experience.
Thanks.
