Well first off, good composition on those grey hunter squads, the drop pod one is exactly what you're looking for. Consider mixing it up and putting some Melta guns in there to save some points. If the squad is coming out of a drop pod, it's probably going to be doing some CC.
I would recommend taking the drop pod squad and making 4 more of them. Remember, you always want an odd number of drop pods if possible. If you do that right, it should be about 1250, which leaves you ~600 points for other goodies.
I hate to have to tell you this, but someone's going to tell you eventually so it might as well be me. Dreadnoughts are bad. Really bad. Especially Space wolf ones. I love dreads. I love how they look. I love their fluff. But they just suck. If you're running a vanilla marines dread for 100 points, that's different. At 155 base, that's just too many points to waste.
Instead grab some Long fangs! 1 to 2 Devastators boxes and all the extra bits from your grey hunters should do the trick. Only put missile launchers on them. I know it's tempting to add a Lascannon or a Plasmacannon. DON'T DO IT. Steal some extra missle launcher bits from your friends.
So to recap:
Cheap Rune priest ~ 125pts
Greyhunter drop pod squad ~230pts
Greyhunter drop pod squad ~230pts
Greyhunter drop pod squad ~230pts
Greyhunter drop pod squad ~230pts
Greyhunter drop pod squad ~230pts
Long Fang Missile Squad ~150 pts (or thereabouts.)
Long Fang Missile Squad ~150 pts
That's 1575 points and is guaranteed to punch your friends/enemies right square in the d**k. Either trim it down to play at 1500 or add in another rune priest, wolf guards or something to bring it up to 1850.

Yeah and it would also be one of the most boring lists.
I d say put atocanons on the preads, bring back the vindicator, put the rune priest in termite armour or runic armour .
What about lone wolves, fenresian wolves and thunder wolves!
Again the only time I've seen drop pods done well is mass combines, or Logan grimnar with five multi melt as or plasma canons!
Also maybe bring back the land speeders with a flamer and a multi melts,
What about an aegis defence line?

This.
Hate spam , so you could use a lone wolve to hunt MC, with a ss and a thunder hammer (just for the coolnes) or power fist, ar to hunt down characters with a wolf claw or frost blade (again, for fun and variety)
Use TWC, a unit of three, just for the fun, see how they rip apart hordes, or give them SS and send them to hunt dow MC too, give to the unit just one power fist.
A winner configuration of the landspeeder is the suicidal one, heavy flamer and multi melta, deep strike, blow thank and, if survive, roast some infantry.
If you want to have some fun and variety on the list, use big units of fenrisian wolves, and use a TW wolf lord with saga of the wolfkin, just to make that they dont run so easyli

I'd drop atleast one of those dreads, I love them but you only really need 1 if that, Lone wolves are devastating for anything that come at them, TDA SS PF/TH with 2 wolves and you can LOS any annoying LC shots onto those wolves as he is a Character.
Long fangs are a must 1 full squad of ML and you have a solid base.

Yeah that list is a bit cookie cuter but it proves a point......... Grey Hunters are AWESOME you need a full unit for every 500pts your playing.
Take them in 10 for dual plasma or melta, and always a wolf standard For re rolling all the 1's, and I mean ALL the 1's, from overwatch to hitting, wounding and armour saves..........OUCH) go to 7 or 8 if you want a IC in there and if you have a WG squad chuck 1 in the unit for protection.
I prefer rhino or foot slog and always keep them in pairs of units as 1 GH unit is Awesome 2 are UNBEATABLE!
Pods are OK but better if your running WG TDA or mixed squads (ala sternguard)
Long fangs are also the awesome and yes 6 with 5 ML is standard and definitely the first unit you should get and i take a RB with TL LC for mobile AT. But the next unit can be PC's for termicide, or LC's for AT or even HB's for hord killin!
then you add your fun element like the other guys said
- WL on TW with 3 THC
- LS with MM
- WL SWK and Fen Wolves
- BC on bikes with WP
- BC with lukas, hahahahaha
- Lone wolves are SO MUCH FUN, I had one with TDA, SS, CF that took down a Nurgle DP and Typhus in a game..... yeah my opponent cried. There are lots of load outs for them, try taking just MoW on one and see what he can do.
- Blackmaine with 15 BC in LRC, do the maths........ LOTS of attacks... like TONS!
Then you can theme your whole army
- Loganwing drop pod list with lots of TDA WG with combi plasma, I love this have tabled every SM and CSM army by third turn.
- Redmoor list from IA, Love this more run full GH units a Scout squad and WP with saga of hunter gives you 2 units that come out from behind and two units that outflank, oh yes and we have acute senses....
- Wolfborn and lots of I6 Fen wolves
just some ideas, but Space Wolves are still very competitive but they are also awesome fun, and people love to play against them....when there not GH LF cookie cutter spam!

Think of something witty..........
Well 8th has succeeded in making me a 40k noob.

That's a lot spent on Dreadnoughts for this point level. You could instead take a maxed out Long Fangs Pack or take two Land Speeder Typhoons (i.e. more ranged firepower) instead, though I know you want 3 Drop Pods. Also, I dislike putting Plasma Guns in Razorbacks. Shoot, I dislike putting much points in a unit that can actually fit in a Razorback. I'd drop the Plasma Gun to a Flamer (don't underestimate them!) and ditch the Wolf Standard and 6th body. Frees up 35 points which you could spend on getting a Twin-Linked Lascannon or Lascannon and Twin-Linked Plasma Gun on the Razorback. I'm also leery of being aggressive with a rather weak Warlord. If you had a different Warlord it'd be one thing, but Rune Priests are squishy in combat and you are going to be balls deep in enemy having him in a Drop Pod. It also makes more sense to stick the Mark of the Wulfen somewhere where it will get into combat quickly. I'd switch the Rhino and Drop Pod Grey Hunter Packs and let your Rune Priest cast Living Lightning from the top of the Rhino. The list itself is pretty solid though, and I'd stick with it and just improve my strategy and tactics. I disagree with what some of the others have said... I'll leave it be for the most part, but there are bad options in our Codex. You've managed to avoid pretty much all of them. Don't change the habit!

If you want to make Space Wolves competitive, you've got to make them boring. If you just want to have fun and probably lose bring all the good toys. Bring some speeders, TWC and Fenerisan wolves. Whip out the blood claws, why not! I would love to think that I could legitimately bring those units to a serious game, but the reality is that good wolves are boring wolves. When is the new book dropping? Surrously.
