So I've started an Eldar army to use against my friends armies. I've tried to write a list that caters for all of theirs: Imperial Guard (mech), Black Templars, Tyranids, Dark Eldar & Chaos space marines.

It would be great if you could let me know what you think of it and what you would change:

HQ:

Farseer - Singing Spear.

Avatar of Khaine - Crushing Blow, Disarming Strike

Troops:

10x Dire Avengers - Exarch, Power weapon & Shuriken Pistol (Dedicated Transport: Wave Serpent, T/L Brightlance)

10 x Guardians - Bright Lance

10x Guardians - Shuriken Cannon

10x guardians - scatter laser

5x rangers

Elites:

5x wraithblades - Ghostswords (Dedicated Transport: Wave Serpent, T/L Brightlance)

5x wraithblades - Ghostaxes

Fast Attack:

Crimson Hunter - Exarch

2x Vypers - x2 Brightlance, x2 Crystal Targeting Matrix

10x Swooping hawks

Heavy support:

Fire Prism

Fire Prism

Wraithknight - Suncannon & Scattershield, Scatter laser

so what do you all think?

cheers for reading

The Twilight Zone

On your Avatar, fast shot will serve you better than crushing blow. In such a large game, there is a fair to strong chance your Avatar won't make it into combat, and if you do, S6 does the job fine most rounds. Smash if you really need the strength.

A power weapon and pistol is a fairly bad loadout for an avenger exarch. Either spring for the diresword, or get a defensive boost with the shimmershield.

Guardians on foot need range out of their weapon platforms, so upgrade the shuricannon to your choice of special weapon.

Serpents should take scatter lasers over bright lances, particularly when you have heavy AT satisfied elsewhere. Holofields are also an auto include, so get those. A shuriken cannon on the bottom is good, but optional.

Since you have the points level, why not get a spiritseer to make the wraiths troops? Either or, don't run wraithblades in serpents. A squad of 10 with axes is good on foot as a scoring unit, or 5 wraiths with guns(scythes or cannons) in serpents.

10 swooping hawks may be overkill, but I know some players who run full squads to good effect. I would consider an exarch with a sunrifle, but it is up to you.

Vypers are just ok, but certainly drop the crystal targeting matrix. They are far too fragile and expensive to invest such points into. Unless you plan on keeping them in reserves and turbo boosting on...even still I would take the points elsewhere.

Prisms need holo fields just like serpents. I am not a huge fan of the suncannon knight, stock works a bit better as Eldar don't need the S6 spam, but 2 S10 cannons are nice.

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

I'll second Serling's advice, every line.

"You can bring any cheesy unit you want. If you lose. Casey taught me that." -Tim S.

"I'm gonna follow Casey; he knows where the beer's at!" -Blackmoor, BAO 2013
