In a game I was having today with a friend of mine at another of our friend's houses, the spectator friend advised my opponent that he should place his vehicle in contact with the quad gun from an Aegis defence line so that it could use the gun "because it says a model in base contact can use the gun". I could not find anything about what models are allowed to use guns on a aegis line. The BRB talks about emplaced weapons on buildings but not whatever a quad gun counts as, as there is no unit "occupying" the ADL. Thoughts?

This is the only relevant FAQ i could find

Q: Can a unit occupying a Bastion manually fire a gun
emplacement (eg. quad gun) on the Bastion’s roof? (p116)
A: No – a model must be in base contact to manually fire a
gun emplacement, therefore the unit must be on the
Bastion’s roof.

But this is a case of a quad gun on the ground, behind an aegis line, and the model "firing" the gun is a vehicle, in base contact with the gun.

I really want vehicles to NOT be able to run a quad gun it seems dumb, but i cant find a rule that says they can't, help.

Change the first sentence of the second paragraph to “One
non-vehicle model in base contact with the gun
emplacement can fire it instead of his own weapon,
following the normal rules for shooting. Note that the model
counts as stationary for these purposes”.

You, your friend, and your spectator friend should all spend half an hour going through your BRB and writing in the Errata and Amendments from the FAQ. That way you won't have to remember as much, since it'll be right there in the rules!

Aye that's right. Might seem boring but it's worth it. I did it for our group of players.

Use the widest tipped sharpie you can find. Dont bother with printing out the information or as someone else suggested, post-it notes.
