Going to take a pl tonight for the first time in 6th, and I see he and the other pl'l have set warlord traits. If the pl is not my warlord, do they still get this ability or do they lose it if another hq choice is selected as your warlord?

Only the Warlord gets to use a Warlord Trait.

Any lord except asurmen : They get that specific trait IF they are the warlord.
Asurmen HAS to be your warlord, and has a special rule regarding warlord traits
