Ok so its been a while since I was in the 40k forums and have decided to take part in a doubles tourney (3 games and min of 1 HQ and 2 troops per person) for some fun with my DA's now my partner is taking a vanilla marines gun line with Pedro and 2 Tac squads, defence line with quad cannon and termies.

now my list is to compliment his gun line it looks like this:

interrogator Chaplin : termie armour

5xScouts : snipers
10xTac squad : missile launcher, Sgt with power sword

10x Deathwing Knights: relic

the general idea is to use the Tac and scouts where there needed then drop the interrogator and DW Knights near the enemy's objective and contest it for as long as the DW knights can.

and this puts me directly on 845pts. now is this list going to help my allies list or just become a flaccid piece of rope and always disappoint ?


I don't have any raven wing models at all, but I do have roughly about 30 termies with a mix of TH&SS, PC,CML and AC's as well as about 50 Tac marines, 20 vets with melta's, land raiders, dreads, assault marines, razor backs, Belial, Asmodai, Ezekiel .... just for reference..

may I suggest making an all DW force to support your partner? belial +2 5 man DW terminators = 2 troop choices. you won't have many models, but if your partner isn't an elite army such as DA, or GK it could work well.

you can also give them 1 TH/SS each to try to mitigate ap 2 weaponry. for the above its about ~680 leaving you with some room (with most expensive HW) you might can shimmy some points around for the knights. I love them myself.

yeah that's what I originally had in mind, but the cost of everything is just hard at this point level..

I mean i'm left with 205 with Belial and 2 DW termie squads with 1 TTH&SS per squad, which is 30pts out on the Knights :(

I mean I could take a dread or I take this list:

Belial
5xDW knights
5XDW Termies CML 2xTH&SS
10xTac Squad Missile launcher

I mean this gets me my Min Troops and DW knights to have Belial in or in the DW termies.

is this better ?

honestly? I would suggest grabbing at 10 man unit of DW terms, 2 HWs, and some TH/SS in the squad, also I recommened giving belial his TH/SS. this way you can make the most use of his no scatter from deepstrike rule. and still have the points left for a tac unit. (I think) also. maybe 1 chain fist.
