Got myself a vindicare assassin (pistol/rifle variant), and I want to paint him up all nice and awesome like. He is going to be serving my in my inquisition-Exortist (GK) and Deathwatch (SW) allied force, and there is a good deal of black already from the deathwatch so I want to avoid just another black painted killer.

Current ideas:
- red shaded down, to go with the exorcists
- light grey with highlights.
- attempt an active camo look like some people have done on Stealth Suites - http://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-NTqIFjCdWMw/RhovbuYy-uI/AAAAAAAAALE/C9GbfDWZVl0/s800/Tau%252520018.JPG
- brown/earth tones

Just model a base with a few spent rounds of brass on it. When people ask what it is, just say he's REALLY well camoflaged.

On a more serious note, you could try some kind of digital camo pattern. (or whatever kind of camo would be appropriate for your regular playing table)

If you can pull off that active camo, go for it. If not, I'd go with a camo that matches your bases.

Or just grey.

WAAAAAAAAAGH!!

Personally I'd go with the earth tones, but adding some red (with some brown mixed in and a flatter, darker shade) and some tonal variation to give him more variety would be good. Go a little flashy with some of his gear and lenses to give him a high-tech look and it should go over well. We see way too many boring and basic vindicare assassins. Its 40k, its all pretty flashy stuff.

I did mine dark blue, like a navy blue, with silver and black fiddly bits. Don't know if that works with your mostly black force though

Yopu could go with a colour scheme similar to the Sangheili Zealots.

Or look at modern Military Camo. a well-done desert scheme should look really good on a Vindicare

Think I am going to try active camo.

Asphalt base (same as active camo colour) into dark red/black shaded body suit. (there are tons of pictures of Tau Stealth Suites... it seems pretty straight forward.)

Weapons will be matt grey with some OSL from orange and blue bits, w/e I find easier to shade out wit.
