Hey Dakkans
So I'm planning my 1000pt Astral Claws list, and my first question is this
- Which chapter tactic best fits the Astral Claws chapter? I'm leaning towards the well rounded Ultramarines and the quick/aggressive Raven Guard.
Secondly the list I have vaguely planned is below, any help would be great (especially regarding the smaller things like special/heavy weapons etc) Sorry, I can't remember the points cost for the units:
HQ
Chapter Master (artificier armour, lightning claw, flamer) - I have the Huron model from forgeworld so that's why he has that equipment (though if there is a better configuration for about the same cost let me know)
Honour Guard x4 With Chapter Banner
TROOPS
Tactical Marines x10 (with Rhino and 15 pts spared for equipment) - Not sure what I want these to do. What heavy/special shall I give them? I'm leaning towards plasmas
Scout Squad x5 (With Landspeeder Storm with multi-melta)
ELITES
Sternguard x5 (with Rhino and 5 combi-meltas - these are going to be my anti-tank)
HEAVY
Land Raider Which variety is best? The plan is to put the honour guard and chapter master in here
I play with a group of mates and none of us have bought flyers yet, so I don't need anti-air, and we don't play overly competitive so I don't need the best of the internetz, just some tips to mold the above into a decent army. All but the landraider I already have, so they need to be in there. If there is a better way of delivering the honour guard and chapter master then I'm all ears (drop pod and spend the rest on another rhino and tac squad?).
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
