Can you re-enter a Drop Pod the turn after it comes down? I know you must get out when it comes down, but it says nothing about getting back in.
Thanks,

Read again space marine drop pod specifically address this.
Lucious drop pods on the other hand...................... but thats a whole nother can of worms..... and the answer to a dreadnaught entering a lucious drop pod to wrap his AV 12/13 in AV 12 open topped wrapping paper is yes.

That's answered in the same part where it tells you you have to disembark in the SM codex. I guess it's the same in other books

In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Could not which? Sit in the pod? Or get back in? I'm confused.

In the BT codex a unit that took a DP could not get back in once they left. Any other unit, however could climb in, but once they left they could not get back in.

Its a bit silly that a drop pod suddenly emits a forcefield preventing anyone from stepping on it once its deployed. Or maybe the floor turns into liquid magma? Or does the floor instead suddenly produce an exceptionally strong superglue making going back inside a bad idea...
Could be one of the marines really annoying in-laws has come down with the pod and is just irritatingly nattering away, I know that would keep me away from the pod.
I wonder what GWs fluff reasoning is for this? Because I cant fathom it!

Fluff reasoning is quite simple: The doors explode outwards... The rule preventing a unit from embarking into a drop pod does make sense when you look at it from that reasoning. If there was an ability to embark into the drop pod, the official way for a model to occupy the space of another model, then other transport rule are in effect. This would include the requirement to destroy the transport in order to expose the unit inside, giving them an armored shell that could only be provided by the thick armored re-entry shields built into the door.... the same door that was just exploded open so the unit inside can disembark. Logically there would be nothing to protect the unit occupying the same space, which is better represented by the cover save granted for being obscured by another unit. Only problem; no crunch based rule telling us the model must be placed with the doors open!

Rulebook P82- Drop pod is a open topped vehicles and transport.. And in space marine codex once Drop pod hit ground it treat as immobilised transport vehicles.
So that mean it just like immobilised battle wagon for space marine.

It is for game balance. Could you imagine how powerful Pods would be if you could drop them anywhere with very little chance for a mishap, stay in the pod that turn and not be targetable unless the pod was Wrecked/Destroyed then disembarking up to 6 inches with a full squad of blood angels Death Company that wreck pretty much anything they are within 6-7 inches of?

Most people haven't seen this but there is no reason you can't do this with lucius drop pods, they are open topped vehicles that are immobile that can hold one dreadnaught. They are av 12 3hp with shrouded on the turn they come in.
The only limitation is if a dreadnaught shoots out of one on the turn it arrives than it counts as having moved as a passenger in a vehicle and can only make snap shots.
Otherwise since it is open topped you can shoot out of it, assault out of it, and generally have a very cheap bunker for your dreadnaughts wherever you want.
Go Iron Fists and they have IWND, put whatever dreads you want inside, its fairly broken.

Whoa I never thought of that.. Death company in drop pod and keep them inside then assault... Hmmm worth to try!
Death reaper,
He mean that if we- blood angel - able to do that, then death company was very danger to our enemy. Take grim as hq and we can take much death company squad as we like and put them in much drop pod as we can take to fill up point. Cheaper than jump pack!

If you did not have to disembark that would be very powerful indeed. Asteroth as the HQ, 3 units of 10 Death Company all in their own pod being able to stay embarked would be devastating to an opponent's army, no matter who they are. (that is 50 attacks from a single unit of DC at Str 5, not counting special weapons all for 235 points for each unit). get the Sanguinor as your second HQ, make sure he is close to 2 units of DC and they get upped to 60 Str 5 attacks on the charge per unit of 10...

Ahhhh.. I just open space marine codex 5th editon. Revise it and found this overrule the open top drop pod transport...
Drop pods, ( blood angel 5th editon - p32)
Once the drop pod has landed, the hatches are blown and all passengers must immediately disembark as normal. Once passengers have disembarked, no models can embark on the drop pod for the remainder of the game.
In 6th editon dark angel, p42 same story...
So we found this answer, then it is "no you can't"
Bah....

I need new space marine codex to read thought out.
It stat that open top and fire point are for turret inside the drop pod and drop pod damage chart are treat as open top transport...
All 5th ed codex in space marine & blood angel say same thing.
And 6th ed dark angel say same as 5th ed.
Maybe you will have to copy this part to prove it.

Well, what that last sentence says is that once the models are out, no models may get in for the remainder of the game. The 5E Blood Angels codex says the same thing (page 32, Transport, last sentence). 6E Dark Angels codex also says the exact same thing (Page 42, under Transport Capacity, the last sentence.) 5E Space wolves say the same thing (page 47, transport, last sentence.) The wording is clear and consistent. _e

Thank you for confirm it, erick99.
Lucarikx, here you go.
Once drop pod has landed, You cannot embark a drop pod at all.
And cannot stay inside once landed drop pod, it dont say to keep pod shield door shut until disembark in next turn.
You will have to Disembark straight away once door blast away.
Full stop.
( bah I wish we can then death company are powerful..)
