I'm hoping to bring something a little bit different to a November tournament. I'm not expecting to be top-table competitive, just hoping to catch some popular armies off-guard and have some fun in the process.
Baron Sathonyx
Haemonculus w/ Hexrifle
Avatar w/ Fast Shot, Crushing Blow
9 Wracks, Acothyst w/ Liquifier

5 X Beastmasters, 20 X Khymerae, 2 X Razorwing Flocks
Talos w/ Haywire Blaster, Chain Flails
Talos w/ Haywire Blaster, Chain Flails
Talos w/ Haywire Blaster, Chain Flails
Wraithknight w/ Ghost Glaive, Scattershield, 2 X Scatter Lasers
Aegis Defense Line w/ Quadgun
The army will be split up into two groups. The group that stays in my deployment zone will be behind the Aegis. The Beastmaster with the Clawed Fiend will man the Quadgun, while the Rangers will be my backline scoring unit. The Haemonculus will begin the game attached to the 28-model Beastpack led by the Baron, but will leave them a Pain Token and join up with the Rangers behind the Aegis. The Talos' will advance directly behind the large Beastpack, with the Wracks advancing behind them to contest late-game objectives. The Avatar and Wraithknight will each take a flank beside the large Beastpack.
With the little playtesting I have done, most heavy fire is directed at the Avatar and Wraithknight, and the Talos' make it across the board relatively unharmed. Depending on how the Baron does as a 2++, FnP bullet magnet for the Beastpack, they usually make it across the board as well. The Wracks try to survive and actually go for objectives rather than dealing out the damage. The shooting elements of the army try to take out the things I would have a problem with, namely fliers, with the Clawed Fiend absorbing any wounds directed at the Quadgun while also providing a reasonable counter-assault to enemy deepstrikers.
It's really a strategy of 'can you kill everything before I get to you?'. I have not faced Tau in sixth edition, or Grav guns, however.
