Tzeentch Aspiring Sorcerer Riding a Disc

Basically, which list? I will be going up against Farsight, Suits, 2 Riptides, 2 Hammerheads and a Skyray whatever that is. The only other models I have are 10 Thousand Sons and Terminators. I feel like it's a matter of wanting the Grimoire or not.

I might skip Fateweaver as a Ally, and instead take an all-tricked-out LoC instead. 5pts more, but much more competent in assault. He can also take Rewards, which Fatey can't. The reason is that one of Fateweaver's greatest strengths is his Warlord Trait, which only affects Daemons as Primary Detachment. A PML4 Psyker is pretty great, but the LoC will do comparably well to a DP in combat (and better against shooting, at T6), whereas Fatey just folds over and dies if he gets assaulted. The thing I'm worried about, going against Tau, is the potential Interceptor. If your Heldrakes make it onto the board, they will roast some Fire Warriors (and Crisis Suits!). But Missile-sides do an alarming amount of shots in Interceptor, as do anything else your opponent cares to kit out for Interception. You also don't seem to have a way to kill the Hammerheads/Skyray. Your Screamers will be target priority 1 for the Tau, so don't expect them to kill more than one of the three vehicles. I'd consider taking Lascannons on the Havocs rather than plasma guns, since they'll be able to stay out of range of all the scary firepower while blowing up vehicles (which plasma guns struggle against). And a bonus: Lascannons can ID Crisis suits; Plasma guns can't.

basically tau counters TSons, as I'm sure you know. Good CC mobility and armor saves are key here. In my opinion termies would be great here, surprised you didnt include them. At least they seem good

I like list 2, but I think I would go with a LoC also. Fateweaver is amazing in a daemons force because he reduces the randomness, but this list is much less random. Flamers are blah.
Depending on what list you are facing from Tau, it will be hard regardless of how you build.
