Hello everyone!

We wanted to share the projects we will be working on with you. We hope to keep everything tidy in one blog here, any non warhammer stuff will be on our facebook, but we will do our bets to update the 40k stuff here!!

To start things off, one of our display quality level paint jobs, also comes with a conversion of a Deathwing Chaplain, Belial, and a scratch sculpt and paint of a DW Librarian!

________________________

Chaplain is nearing completion, there will be more freehand on the cape, I wasnt going to show the freehand but alas, Malleus got ahead of me!

What does everyone think of the damage/weathering?

Belial, tore his arm off to get at under parts better, camera still isnt picking up the colour and even editing in photoshop isnt bringing the yellows out, may need to use a different background for final photos!!!

Wow, now that's different! :-) and beautiful too! great use of tones on the armour and that effect with the head! I've never even thought of doing that kind of thing but now I'll be trying it for sure as it really does look great and very Ghost rider!

like Bebop mentioned we'd love to see some progress shots so we can discern how to improve our own painting and marvel at what you do!

subscribed too :-)

Glad everyone is enjoying the chaplain!

Here is Belial, hes complete minus freehand!

We changed the shield colour to have a stronger backdrop. The freehand will look nice on it, but the issue is the shape of the shield ruins many options for freehand and also killed the idea of putting a trim around it to reduce the red impact, so I will need to be creative with the freehand......

AND SOME PROGRESS PICS!!

Belial Progress:

Add some putty for support(we used sculpey)

Add on milliput+GS mix, smoothen with brush

Bulk out and form folds and shapes by adding small amounts of putty gradually.

Same Deal for the chaplain!

Here's the front shot with the crotch blanket in place

This time for the coat portion we work off an existing piece of plastic!

Here you can see the coat added and now we are roughing in the putty to make the rest of it

No problem, heres some more!

The dremel is a staple for Malleus' sculpting. Its a big factor in how he makes weapons and works through epoxy crisply!

Here are some more shots of recent action!

Just attached the plastic cape with some putty to the chaplains back

Some roughing in of the folds and such for Belial and Chaplain

Then we sand it down and carve it after it cures, add more and sand and so on

Adding some sandy dirt/pebbels mix to the base to fill in the cracks and give more texture

Very impressive! that sculpted head is great, I love painting bare heads and that is one I would jump at to use! you guys certainly are impressive, how long have you been doing this kind of work? and why am i only seeing this for the first time now? obviously the painting skills like that have been around for a while! did you mainly haunt Coolmimi or other sites?

As a Dark Angels Palyer your work is truly inspiring. The shield of Belial is absolutly amazing. Well done sir, well done.

@Master Azalle, thanks! The shield was actually a bit of a pain, because the shape of it really limited the designs we could use. We originally planned a beige shield with gold trim and a red lion... That changed to red shield gold trim... and then we removed the trim altogether so the symbol itself could be larger!

@nerdfest, mostly kept to ourselves and went to gamesdays and so on. You can check out more stuff on our facebook page. We do have a Slayer Sword, and a bunch of other awards... We have been painting for about 10 years but only sculpting for about 1-2years

Im not one to beg for likes, but if you want to see more photos, stuff we cant post here and so on, we post stuff almost daily

In addition we are online all day so you can always post questions and comments, its harder to manage 20 forum blogs all day but one facebook page is easy!

Ah good to know thanks! :-) have to get on your FB when i'm at home as the work computer is blocked for that site :-( but i'll be following for sure! I need to figure out the steps you used for the chaplain ghost rider skull? it seems it could have uses in a few areas of other models it's simply something so different!

Unfortunately the skull was quite the process, its not something we can really walk you through exactly. its a lot of comparison, going back and forth, looking at it in photos, and so on. Its only right when it feels right...

So we changed the pose. imagine the ground is cracking beneath him, the landscape twisting, the librarian holding his balance on a declining cliff, fighting the daemons and chaos that is before him!

Using his point staff he point in their general direction while the back hand wields the great book of somewhat secrets....
