But when you make your scout move, dont you have to remain at least 12" away from your opponent? So infiltrating and then scouting gives you an extra 6" (with infiltrating making you stay at least 18" away from an enemy". Not bad I guess, if thats important to you
Right, so you infiltrate up to 18" from enemies in vision (12" if not in vision, but that rarely happens) and then you scout move to be 12" away from the enemy. Then on your first turn you regular move up 6" putting you 6" away from the enemy.
Prime range for that combi-melta scout sarge.
However, I do have a question about it:

Does this mean they cannot actually get into half melta range on the first turn because if they are
more than 12" and then they scout up they will still technically be
more than 6" away from the enemy target. hmm.....
either way, it gives you an opportunity to pepper a unit with your shot-guns.
