Did this one last month. First attempt at doing gold armor, normally I stick with dark colors. Overall quite pleased with it.

Very Pretty, I love the gold armour and the wings.

Something about the flames on the sword looks off though, perhaps try going from white at the base all the way through to black at the very tips?

Personally the flowers on the sword pommel blend too much into the wings as well, I think red there could work in really bringing them out.

Great job overall though!

The flames were one thing that I kind of just SFMA'd it (Straight from my a**). It's a nice casting in that the flames kind of blend with the blade, but I never could figure out how to paint it in such a way that made it look natural so I'll give it a try. I will definitely give the flowers another go. I never was able to decide if I wanted the all one color or maybe a few different colors kind of peppered in there.

The gold was done with just layering with dry brushing, a wash, and a final dry brushing all with citadel paints.

I used the Warplock bronze as the base coat. Once that was dry, I dry brushed some Balthasar Gold, then dry brushed some Gehenna's Gold, then dry brushed some Auric Armour Gold. With each dry brushed layer, not only did I get progressively lighter with the color I was using, but also I used less and less pressure on the dry brush until by the time I reached Auric Armour Gold, it just became a very light dusting.

Once the dry brushing was done, I found that some of the details were covered up a little more than I'd like by all the dry brushing, also it felt as if the layers of dry brushing didn't quite "blend" that well. On top of that, the armor looked a little too bright for my taste, so I washed the whole thing with Agrax Earthshade, which is kind of a happy medium between Seraphim Sepia and Nuln Oil (both of which I tend to use a lot). This helped bring back some of the details, as well as darken it a little more. After the wash had dried then I did another very light dusting with the Auric Armour Gold just for highlighting.

Overall, it's one of those things that I came up with because I have not been able to get a hang of how to do blending. So I tried this which does the job, and it also works well when you have a larger area. I'm still trying to learn how to blend for smaller things, but haven't really had much success.

Nice flames and gold. One of my favorite color schemes I've seen done on the saint

Hmm, you could be on to something with just a few flowers being a different color, be sure to post some pictures up of any improvements
