Are the special rules for ramming vehicles in the BRB, just for Tanks, or can any vehicle choose to ram another vehicle?

Personally, I can see no reason why a bike should not be able to ram any other vehicle.

IIRC, ramming is a special type of tank shock and only vehicles with the 'Tank' type in their profile can tank shock (barring any other special rules).

True about bikes ramming vehicles. They should be able to ram them, but it will at best count as driving at full speed into a brick wall.

Jokes aside, ramming uses AV to calculate Str. Bikes lack AV. How should this work?

7002 points. Rozth 9th/9th Siege Infantry. CO: Fältöverste Karl Hagan
4000 points. Order of the true Voice. Cult Leader: Sorcerer Ziyad Un-Nefer #AvengeProspero
Praetorian Guard/ Lascari Light Brigade: 2000 points, Huzzah!
Bretonnia: 2000 points (Forever WIP)

Bikes can already sort of ram vehicles. They have Hammer of Wrath after all.

That's a free str4 hit before you make your melee attacks.

OK I thought as much. Thanks for the quick reply folks. And I totally forgot about the Bike/Elder Bike special rules.

Bike omissions aside I like playing with all vehicles being able to ram. It's pretty fun having a DE raider scream into a leman russ as a last ditch kamakazi effort to destroy it once its on its last hp and has no weapons. Definitely not RAW but fun none the less.

A new day, a new time zone.

There's a reason why only tanks can ram - a raider running into a leman russ results in a pancaked raider, and the leman russ commander glancing up from his tea and asking, 'did we just hit a dip?"

"-Nonsense, the Inquisitor and his retinue are our hounoured guests, of course we should invite them to celebrate Four-armed Emperor-day with us..."

Depending on armour facing and speed the raider has a slim chance of doing something. Smashing into the front armour of a russ is silly....unless you can travel 30" or so before you hit the russ...

It seems especially strange to me to give Dark Eldar Raiders, for free, an ability which they can otherwise buy.

Orks have to pay points to allow their (non-tank) vehicles to ram.
No way those twiggy elves should be getting it for free!

Dark Eldar raiders can ram, they buy an upgrade for it.

It only happened ONCE, but I had a Tervigon spawn a unit of Termigaunts and place them completely surrounding one of my Buggies.

The Gaunts weren't capable of harming the Buggy, and the Buggy isn't a "tank" so it couldn't ram it's way past the Gaunts. But, they could get in the way and prevent my Buggy from contesting a nearby objective. My Warboss was stomping his feet a bit at that.

The gaunts could have glanced it to death. Just saying

Technically, yes. They could shoot it and glance it on 6's. In the game where this actually happened, after 2 rounds of shooting they'd destroyed the weapon on the Buggy, which had been trying to SHOOT its way out of the Gaunt circle... and then the game ended. Fortunately I still managed to win by destroying all my opponent's other troops besides these Gaunts, and claiming my own home objective.

This is something people tend to forget. Play the mission. Killing your enemy is fun, but if it costs you all your scoring units...

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Not needed, they could just shoot it, since they can't be locked with it. And spawned gaunts always have the bolt pistol-like option, so S4

Yeah, forgot about that. Sorry.
