My questions pertains to my Dark Angels army, but any army that has multiple branches or wings could run into the same situation.

Right now, my army is mostly greenwing, with only one unit of deathwing terminators and one unit of ravenwing....Many tac squad boxes + dark vengeance. So far all my greenwing are based the same, and I've made up the bases for my terminators the same way. ( http://www.dakkadakka.com/gallery/images-71585-34964_Dark%20Angels.html for reference, but the exact look isn't terribly important) I'm still working on my deathwing, and they aren't attached to the bases so I have time to work this out. I bought some resin bases a long time back that I mounted my ravenwing bikes to when I first got back into 40k, but didn't have an army plan. The bases are close...but not quite the same. The ravenwing bases are http://www.back2base-ix.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=18 ...the bike sized ones. So...for those of you that have armies that have multiple wings, do you base them all the same or do you find it acceptable to have different styled bases on the different wings? I plan to focus more on ravenwing in the future and field them independently, if that matters to anyone. The other option is to take the already mounted bikes off and make bases like the greenwing fellows.

Just looking for opinions here.

Totally upto you :/

Although if you want them to look like part of the same army, then yeah make them match styles across the board.

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

If you would like to ever field large chunks of your army from the different parts it would look nicer to have that simple tie in. That said I have also played on a lava board with my snowy field based DA against an urban based guard army so it will not always work.

That's why mixed appearance bases are best (IMO)

Or you can just claim it's all bad luck and you're really the best player in the world if not for those dice and/or cards.
