I was researching the newer fortifications that aren't in the BRB and found the rules for the Vengeance Weapon Batteries.
They look appealing for how cheap they are and how much firepower they may be able to dish out; however, has anyone used these yet? What has been people's experiences with such? Do you find them to work better with the Battle Cannon upgrade or just the Punisher Gatling Cannon? How durable are they in the games you've played with them?

Ive seen them used to great effect and other times do nothing.
Always go battle cannon. 6-7 S5 hits with ap - cant compare to hitting with a battle cannon. Durability wise they ignore glancing hits (no one inside to be hurt) and its armour 14. Ive seen these things shrug off attacks like no tomorrow, needing a 15 for a pen roll isn't the easiest thing in the world, and even then half of the chart results doesn't effect the gun in anyway. Also fun fact, you cannot charge a vehicle or building you cannot hurt, so no bonus moves for lots of people!
Also remember, if he dedicates an entire anti tank unit at it, its 85pts.... woooo friggin hoo.
Down side is they shoot last, so you almost have to leave the unit alone that you want them to blast, and if it misses you might put yourself in a bad situation. Worst case scenario is you play someone else with vengeance batteries and you shoot at each other pointlessly.
All in all I like them, especially if you need the fire power.

Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

For the cost the above mentioned BC battery is okay. In reality I've used them in over a dozen games and the vast majority of times I'm glancing or Scattering-off Drop Pods.
In exactly one game they've done something useful and then only when the Large Blast scattered off the Drop Pod it was forced to target onto a nicely bunched up group of Grey Hunters who were locked in CC with my Orks. Just as easily could have scattered onto my Orks!!!
I just bought a Landing Pad last week and assembled it this weekend. (Note do NOT paint the pad before assembly, the hinges do not have enough clearance if painted, the light coat of primer underneath was fine though).
4++ Inv defense for my Lootas will do a helluva lot more than 2 BS2 scatter-happy BC shots which are usually either hitting something in MY DZ or shooting at something in cover.
They might surprise an opponent once but the auto-targeting feature is so frustrating.
Last game with Tau the opp. just jumped his Riptide next to one and never took a wound thanks to scatter, his 2+ save, and FNP.
I have not tried the 20 strength 5 shots since I run BikerNobz and already have plenty of that.
The fortress bunker with the 2 Twin-Linked LAscannons looks interesting. I heard it has like 15 firepoints or something.

Its fire points are "as per model" so technically has 1, that only 2 models can fire out of.
If this get removed then just search "vengeance battery/firestorm redoubt rules" on google, there are dozens of pictures.
