honestly three of the best things from space wolves are rune priests, grey hunters, and long fangs (with missile launchers)

starting a list off with

one rune priest
two to four full 10 man grey hunter squads with melta guns or plasma (with at least half melta)
three 6 man long fang squads with 5 missile launchers or 4 missile launchers and 1 lascannon (the lascannon can split fire)

will make it hold up against most lists and run around 1250 points ..... from there either add in TDA wolf guard as pack leaders and run footwolves, or drop pods / rhinos - the rune priest can be used with divination to buff a missilefang squad or JOTWW / Living Lighting attached with a grey hunter squad.

swiftclaws can be decent ... but they are honestly mediocre you need a wolfguard on a bike with PF & a wolf lord (decked out) or wolf priest or rune priest on a bike with the unit to make it anywhere near viable (which comes out to a huge point sink)

Either way .... get a solid 1k-1250 point list then add things like wolf guard / TWC / dreadnoughts after you have played a decent bit and know what your army needs.

Also .... wolf standards are mandatory for any grey hunter squads, one of the best 10 point troop upgrades in the game.

Unfortunately something has been overlooked by the other posters... You have several illegal combinations here:

1. You get 1 TDA Heavy Weapon per 5 Wolf Guard. You only are taking 4 Wolf guard and have both an Assault Cannon and CML listed.
2. Swiftclaws only get one Special Weapon. You have two listed; the Plasma Gun and the Meltagun.
3. Your Long Fangs Squad Leader doesn't get a Heavy Weapon. You have to take 6 Long Fangs to get 5 Heavy Weapons. Your point cost is right however so more likely for this one you just wrote the entry down weird. Not true for the first two points however...

Then you have two major problems that I see:

1. You have no force projection of any kind. Your Troops should have a cheap and cheerful Rhino or Drop Pod (and so should your Multi-Melta Dreadnought) so they don't have to walk across the board. It makes a massive difference in how long they are going to survive, how effective the first turn they can open fire they are, and how you can control the board.
2. You don't have very many scoring bodies, even for 1000 point game. You need to fill out your Troops.

Ultimately this game is about Objectives, and only Troops can reliably claim Objectives. You would do well to take the fluffy advice given in the Space Wolves Codex and build your list around the core of Grey Hunters, with everything else supporting them.

Thanks for the advice,

That wolf guard with the CML and autocannon will be left out, its an old model so wont match the other guys.
With the swiftclaws I'll swap the plasma for a standard arm when i get the chance.
I've got a lot of grey hunters I could always add when points are available, but as i dont have a drop pod or rhino I dont like using grey hunters due to them getting shot or chopped up.
Long fangs and rune priest are brilliant, although sourcing 5ML is difficult, I've managed to get 3 which was a slow and painful process in itself!
I just like the dreadnought as it looks cool.

I'm not sure about the wolf guard or swiftclaws as I've never used them before, I usually have lone wolves and additional grey hunters. I thought it would be good to use the swiftclaws as a distraction more than anything else.

I'll have to play and see how the scoring units do, there isn't very many of them.

I'm still learning the game and bought alot of AOBR models off a friend for cheap, these models are newer and look better than my older models, hence the PF wolf guard and all the swiftclaws, dreadnought.

Other than these models I have:
another rune priest in TDA, Some wolf guard terminators and lots of grey hunters.

Thanks for the advice guys, hope all is well.
