This is probably wishful thinking:
BRB p.47: jetpack units can move 2D6 in the assault phase. It then goes on to say "they move just as they would when using their jet packs in the movement phase."

Cross referencing to the Eldar codex p.67: "In the movement phase, a model with a warp jump generator.... making a warp jump, it immediately moves 6 + 2D6 in any direction..."

If codex rules trump BRB, and I'm a jerk and use RAW, can my spiders move 6+ 2d6, then run d6 (fleet), then assault jump 6+ 2D6? for a total of anywhere from 16 to 36 inches?

I welcome it.

Except for one little thing. Skyborne specifies what the rules mean by "move as they would in the movement phase".

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

No. Because it specifies that you can make a warp jump in the movement phase. This isnt the same as using your jet pack.

nosferatu:
it does indeed, in the movement phase, a model with a generator may choose to make either a jet pack move or a warp jump move. The BRB says: during the assault phase, if not assaulting, they move just as they would during the movement phase.

It occurs to me that this might be reasonable as making a warp jump move incurs the double's risk of losing a model. It would make some sense that this move given a +6 is the reason someone might choose to make this move and accept the risk.

It also makes me realise that if I make a 2d6 jetpack move during the assault phase, I'm not subject to the risk of rolling doubles as I would be if I was making a warp jump.

I think i see what you are saying... a jetpack unit may make a "Thrust move" during the assault phase. I believe that makes a reasonable argument against using your generator in the assault phase. In which case the warp spiders make a 2d6 "thrust move" and do not run the risk of random deaths by rolling doubles because it is not a "warp jump".

I think it has to be either one way or the other: yes they can make a second warp jump and they incur the risk. Or no they make a thrust move and therefore do not incur the warp jump risk.
