So PBS has a nice new documentary on the infamous War of the Worlds broadcast.

However, there is some discussion that the "panic" is simply an American Myth. That there was in fact no panic.

The PBS documentary, like so many accounts of War of the Worlds before it, can’t resist the allure of the myth.
