Well have not played sense 4th picked up the new Dex and rules... i love the new Eldar their Fast & soft ... they fall Hard & they hit harder. thats what you get for space elves.. Anyways i love the fluff. not any one craft world pops to me but the littie blerrb about Ynnead the god of death really jumped out at me. In all the eldars lose and Damnnation their is hope... That giving up their lives in Battle and joining the curcit that they can form a new God. To defeat She who thirstes. i said that the army is going to be Biel-Tan-Ish ( you'll see why later) but its not its its own kind-band that is drown togather by the same ideas. its just so happened to look like Beil-tan on paper. frist WHYYYYYYY!!! then what i would like from you'll. im just getting in the new dex and i wont to see how all the Aspects fight togather and seperatly. i really dont wont to change the list. i just need pros and cons. remamber this is just the backbone of the craft world other forums coming soon. this is a tanke and hold army. seek and desrtoy. comming soon.

i know what your thinking this dude is never going to win another warhammer game again... tis true this army is only going to win 3/10 at best. i wonted to get back to basic eveyone wontes to talk about what aspect is better what guns are better... and i say to you none are better then any other unit in our dex. if we think of it that way we are defeting are selves... we are cutting out some great units some of which are the best in the game at what they do. becuse their not better then Scorpins? we are cutings areselves at the knees... the thing is are they better then marines?. and to me that all that matters. the eldar are an army of elites we are never going to out gun ,out melee 0r out move (mybe not out move) any other army on the table. because of are low Str /Tuf but we will hit more and thats the key. But this is also are greatest weapon are "free wargear" such as hit and run or haywire granades and are unit to enemy unit mach ups are the best in the game.. we might not win the numbers game but thats whet team work is all about. im not thinking about what i need to do to stop that army but what they have to do to stop me. As i said before i want to see how all thes units do on the table (about 50 games) intell i pick my MVPS. and before i start putting my two cents in.

i wont to take and hold with this army and with mosty armys i build seening as how most of the games will be just that.

Basic tactics Take & hold

take

Spears & Dragons - Heavy armour & monsters one hit with my spears and dragons play mop up (or the other way around)
Hawks & Spiders - light infrantry & meduim Infranrty Drop bombs on then make them take crazy amout of saves, finsh them with Str6 & light armour hunter hillers
Banshees - Amour 3+ Hunter wont to go after Warlords and Meduim Infrantry
Scorpins - go after scouts and infiltratters heavy wepaons teams terme killer ( more att +more saves= less saves made)
Reapers - long rang support for melee units 1. Avenger 2. defenders 3. scorpins 4. banshees 5. light armour hunter killer

Hold
Avatar - fearless bubbele, fire magnet armour killer monster killer
Farseer - support Avatar and other Hold Unites
Defenders & Avangers - Take & Hold
Avengers& Defender - Take & hold (not the same thing)
Reapers - hold with long rang fire support
Hawks - hold with med rang and bombs

serpent - transport banshees & support them
- transport Scorpins & support them

Serpant -transport dragons & support them
- transport reapers & support them
all serpant support hold units.

im srry this is rather long.. but i have to get this off my chest. as you can see overlapping battle lines here most unties will be helping out each other (Poor Banshees) or they have some sort of fire support. i think this plan is felexable to the needs of the battle. the avenger will take, and the defenders will hold or the defenders will take and the avengers will hold ( i know it makes sense right lol) the farseer will do his thing as needed and the Avater will be the big boss he is. the hawks and reapers can hold and take and support as needed. the scorpions and banshees will seek and kill. the spears and dragons will one hit wonder ( 2 hit winder when it comes to the spear) and the dragons will mop up or vice verse... the spiders will do their thing with that str 6 to mob up units and hit side amour and light tanks. i think this might work like i said im not going to win games day with this thing just trying to be eldar with out haking the codex down to nothing leave some comms below about tactics not army changes you can yell at me is you wont... You dont have to be gentile i like the pain....

well yes you should know this list isnt competitive at all really, and since you dont want us to take out any aspesct warriors (and yes, some aspects are WAY better than others) then i really dont know how to critique this list.

I just wonted to see how each one of them played i dont wont to rum a spam army. i dont see how anyone are better then another as the do differant things how can you compare them?

well banshees are basically terrible all the time, and warp spiders are great every time.

fire dragons are good most of the time, scorpains are god some of the time.

just like that.
you use the units that best work. sadly, most cc units in eldar army arnt great, so i woudnt bother really.

it is possible to make a competitive non spam list you know. if you want help making that into one, just ask.

well im asking you what would you change keeping to this list ask much as you can ? are banshees that bad i know pawer weapons are ap3 know is thats so bad why spiders if i roll doubles one dies anyway and their weapons are ap- so you alwys get a save. and scorpins cc is ap4 and their bite you alwas get a save againts i dont see the point in sayings only a faw unites are good thens whats the point i do wont to be compatative without spam let me know how and this army is to test out each to see what i likee

ok so banshees die to easy, are fast, but cant run and get into combat which they need.
war spider squads are devastating, you could ask on tatics if any aspects better than another, and why, but let me tell you its true.
warp spiders are crazy mobile, devasting guns vs really anything (yes ap-, but 10 s7 shots agasint a vehcle, back armour probally because you are deebstriking is great.)

i would make a list that has
a laughing sear
avatar
2X 5 man dire aevnger squads in serpents (not spam)
X2 gardain squads as above, they go up with avatars fearless bubble.
serpent+dragons
10 man scorpain squad
X2 5 man warp spider squads
1 hawk squad

and then with any extra points (if you have any) get warlocks for gardian squad.

that will give you a pretty decent list, with stil allot of aspect warriors, and most of the units you wabted to have.

You have to have good size squads first of all to not die outright,
Harlequins are the best CC troops Eldar have in this codex so always run them with shadow seer and troupe master, dragons are great to run in falcons or serpents (falcons if you don't want to spam), dire avengers need transports to get anywhere same with guardians because 12" and 18" range on foot is terrible,
Farseer on jetbike with Mantle of the laughing god is the best option out there, the avatar is good to use only if supported. Warp spiders are the best fast option out there ( hawks are OK only vs low armour units).
Spears just suck... just suck.. so never take them guardian jetbikes is the new cheese around here so they are great take them in units of 3x6 always take cannon upgrade.
Reapers are great if you have enough AP2 weapons in your list war walkers are your best friend with BS4 so always take them.


What i am attempting to say is all aspects are not the same, some aspects you should never take if you want to win at all and some just clean house.

the normal non spam list for me is,

Arsurmen warlord
Farseer with Mantle of laughing god

Dire avengers x10 with wave serpent/chin cannon, scatter lasers
Dire avengers x10 with wave serpent/chin cannon, scatter lasers

Harlequins x10 shadow seer, Troupe master/power weapon
9x Harlequins kiss

Wraith guard x5 /flamers with wave serpent/chin cannon scatter lasers

Crimson hunter Exarch x2

War walkers x2 bright lances

It has good hitting and staying power and really three serpents isn't spamming.

thanks cor your input guys realy im not tring to soud like a know it allor push you ideas off. im srry if it sounds like that i did run spiders for a long time lame just never worked for me ill try again... im goinv to run this list justtoo see how each one workes for me and what i like to play to just seems playing eldar is pointless. with other armys you can feild just about anything and win. it seems you cant do that wit eldar. the only arm i like mybe its te to quite for good thanks for the input wil think it over...

I take my hat off to you Swastakowey i doubt i could beat 4 riptides with just aspect warriors.

how do you kill tank heavy armies? you have no tanks or guardians and wraith guard with 12" range isn't very good at that.

Do you use an Autarch as your warlord or a phoenix lord?
Do you use war walkers for support or just reapers?
Other then shurkin catapults where is any anti TEQ coming from?

thanks for the love man i need it but thats what i was saying we have a unit to kill ever think in the game why not use it we dont have the luxury to say what unit it better in are own codex i dont care h much i lose s long as i can blow up your 250 radier with my 110 shining spears it maks me smile.... i dont like. farseer ether but their buff are too good i might take out the avatar and add a autarch with wings and a reaper laucher upday for this list commin soon... cant wait for biel tan dex comes out

Its funny because the serpents cost the same as all these upgrades i think i'm off 5 point or so but its all good its with Friendly's anyway. in my 2000 point army going to add the Tanks and transports and that 6th man in each unit . I like it and i'm going to try it out win are lose this is going to expand my knowledge of elder aspect warriors and that's what i'm trying to do here. Thanks all for helping me out with all this...

I've been playing for a fairly long time now, and I can tell you, from experience, that you will be highly highly disappointed as you gradually or not so gradually take all your models off the board. Eldar has always been about the synergy of the aspect warriors and synergy of the whole army in general. This army has no synergy. It looks like you took 5 of every aspect warrior just because they were aspect warriors. If you going to run an aspect list: 1. You won't have as much success at tourneys, but more importantly 2. The aspects' roles on the field need to complement each other and try to cover up each other's weaknesses.

The other major problem I see is the lack of any fire base whatsoever. Your little T3 eldar mans aren't going to make it very far across the board if they don't have a BIG fire base pounding away at key threats. War walkers, fire prisms, and Vaul's support batteries became amazing in this codex and you definitely need at least 2 out of the 3 to be able to deal enough damage while your army is getting close.

The only thing that made me cringe more than the horrific amount of typos was the banshees and the presence of so many exarchs. Exarchs, unfortunately, aren't as good as they used to be, and banshees might as well be left in the box.

Exarchs: Don't give Ld 10 anymore, cost the price of an extra man, and can get challenged in close combat. That being said some exarchs prove themselves invaluable with the wargear/ exarch power combos they can bring. Drop the exarch on the spiders, and I would drop the exarch on the dire avengers too unless your willing to spend the points for the 5+ invuln for the whole squad(only worth it for a 10man squad).

Banshees: I have 30 of them, that's right, 30. I've never pulled them out for a game yet. Their abilities and power weapon got nerfed. Their razor-sharp power sword is nothing more than a floppy frakking dildo now. I guess that gives them something to do while they sit in the box.

I'll come back later with an aspect heavy list that might work. In the mean time you could probably spell check everything that has to do with your profile.

dont give your fragons any upgrades, complete waste. you really dont need and exarch with +1bs, or a fusion gun with +6 inches range. just make them even more expensive.

yes im sorry about all the typos im not a vary good speller im srry and i didnt think my spelling and grammer had any thing to do with my army. thats why this is my first and last time being on a forum. i like how ninja got some back up to bet up on this list i undersand all the things your are talking about how the army is to work togather to get anything done yes i was aware when i was wrighting this list that it was no good when i said is it tourny good i mend aspect warrors as a hole. but how im i to know whats good if i dont play it for myself. with all your years of gaming how can you sit here a beat down a person who is trying exspress himself just because it is differante then what you know to be the truth.. my 40k friends told me forums are no good and now i undertand why... people dont wont to help they just wont to bash you behind a computer screen. im srry for posting bad lists it wont happen again.

spiders are great they mov crazy fast.... banshees are ap3 now still 3+ saves get no saves thats still like most marnies just cus igsnot tormies doesnt make them any less good they are more 3+ saves in the game the 2+ thats what star cnnons are for i was out of the game for long time because of this narrow minedness in players maybe people need to step back from for a few years the game and take a fresh look.

I agree with up above spam lists are fun the first time but so repetitive why even both to play? Also just ignore the negitivity from other members its just hate because its not going to win all your games.

Play what you want and have fun with it, why else are we here?

I applaud and like the idea of doing an Aspect themed army. Unfortunately, I also am going to agree with most of the previous comments that 1.) Banshees should be left at home, 2.) Your list needs synergy as Eldar absolutely require this, and 3.) There needs to be a firebase for the Reapers. My Aspect themed list is as follows:

HQ: Karandras (Infiltrates the Avengers)
Farseer (no upgrades)
2x Warlocks (no upgrades)

Troops:

2x 3 man bike squads with Shuriken Cannon

2x 10 man Guardians with Bright Lances

9 man Dire Avenger squad, Exarch upgrade with Power Weapon and Shimmershield

Fast Attack:

8 Hawks, Exarch with Sunrifle

10 Warp Spiders (could split into 2 squads but I like the durability)

Elite:

10 Scorpions, Exarch with Scorpion's Claw

Heavy:

3x Shadowweaver support batteries

5 Reapers, Exarch with Night Vision and Fast Shot, squad with Starshot Missles

Fortifications:

Aegis w/ Quad Gun

Total is 1849

Idea is to have a home base with a couple Guardian squads with their Warlocks hitting out at armor, Reapers manning the Quad Gun (BS5 and 5 twin-linked shots) then taking down everything, Farseer joining the Support Battery and dishing out psychicness. Support Batteries are really good, if armor is big in your area switch to Vibros, otherwise dropping a S7 barrage with possible AP1 is really good.

Spiders and Hawks are your early incursion, as are the Scorps and Avengers with Karandras. Jetbikes claim/contest far off objectives and/or be harassment units.

Has worked pretty well for me thus far (3-1-2 W-D-L) and isn't considered spam by a long shot. Additionally, it stays true to the Biel-Tan ideal which is a fighting force of Aspect warriors supported by Guardians and some psychics. If you wanted the Avatar instead, dropping the Farseer and Warlocks and adjusting the points on a couple other units would fit him in.

that looks good i like the avatar but dont see the anything differant then what everyone else is playing i understand if it ant broke dont fix it but 10 spiders and 10 scorpions how is that mostly aspects when you left half of them at home i understand the uint number to keep them alive but thats crazy points for my me for that point you can get two cc units instead of just on big target. i agree two out of three of your statment.are the ladyes still good yes will they die fast yes should they be left at home no just cus their not ap 2 anymore. thats crazy. i do beleave in fire bases and yes eldar need synergy but you can also acheive this by haveing muiti units having over laping jobs or targets.

shado specters are talkng about 40k sounds like apycolops ya dire avenger are good at 10 spiders i like thme at 6 but they do get fired on seeing as how ever one experience hinks their sooo good i guess... again never hear of that kind of walker before im goiing to switch out some upgrades for wakers or vypers i think all bailtain need their avatar what type of autarch do you take?

are those rules in the rulebook or in the codex i dont have the big rulebook... ya iim going to drop some up grades for fire bash s keeping to this list what changes are good for you? in my fluff i need defndersseeing how its a new craft world and all...

my most recent one is 100% for fun, and not competitive.
its a SM list with over 1000 points in hq, then allieing with eldar for a wraithstar
