Hi guys it's my first time playing tau and I wanted to make a good but fun list
So here it goes
Hq
Comander
Fusion blaster plasma rifle
Advanced targeting system, shield generator
Troops
10 fire warriors shas'ui
Marker drone, missile drone
Devil fish
^^ this times 2^^
Elites
Xv8 crisis team
Plasma rifle, fusion blaster, stim injector
^^ this times 2^^
Riptide
Ion accelerator, plasma rifle 2X shield missile drones
Fast attack
Path finders
6 guys 2 rail rifles, shas'ui, 2 marker drones
Heavy support
Hammer head
Broadside team
3 guys stim injectors
It's my first time back to tau since they first come out so any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi it's a fun looking list I think your wasting points on your HQ as a shield drone is 12pts but shield gen is 25pts so with the 13 points you can twin your fusion giving better odds for vehicle wrecking and instead of two shield missle drones for your ripetide I would give your hammerhead longstrike so it's bs5 and gets to re roll vehicle pen rolls

Ok for starters you can only have missle drones on broadsides so the ones on your fire warriors are illegal, also you will want to remove the shielded missle drones on your riptide as if one dies then your riptide will run off the board and all those points will be wasted. Use the points to buy a stim injector for it instead.

Okay thanks I only had. Brief skim through the book didn't see think of the two invunerables hahahaha
And I will deffinatly do that to the hammer head sounds ace
Btw can battlesuits still move in assult ?? I couldn't see it in the codex ??

Yeah battle suits can in the assault move 2d6 even if if run in shooting plus they have relentless rule so can move fire heavy weapon at full bs then assault so very versatile

So long as you roll well as its 2D6" so if you have jumped out of cover shot then roll to move back behind cove you can move from 2" to 12" just depends how lucky you roll

Not a bad list, but light on the Troops.
I'd drop the Stim injectors from the Broadsides and Crisis Suits. Give your Commander Iridium Armor and possibly a stim injector. Missile Drones are a good buy for your Broadsides, as is the 'Vre upgrade for Ld9.
Only Broadsides can have missile Drones.
Generally the upgraded weapons on your pathfinders won't be used muh over their markerlights.
Be careful with the Missile Drones on the Riptides, make sure your opponent cant shoot them over the Riptides. Risky, but not all bad.

Cheers I gave them stim injectors because I face a plague marine army regularly and it's so annoying watching something survive everything you threw at it because of fnp. So I wanted me some of that action
And I've already dropped the missile drones in the squads for another marker light
Oh and yea I had the rail rifles in the pathfinders for some additional punch but realised not long after I don't need it haha so they will get dropped for some more pathfinders

Looks alright, again no missile pods allowed on firewarriors.
I think there is a little to much heavy support but that seems to be how people are playing now a days.
The only recommendation I would make ks maybe take out a roadside and put more firewarriors.
I say this because 40k is an objective game and you will need more troops to capture the objectives.
3 units of 8 firewarriors works good if you have 2 boxes of firewarriors, I normally leave them bare so that's 72ish points per squad because I put my marker drones on xv8 teams.
Other than that I would just play the list you want, as long as it's all legal play what you like.

It's the same case with my space marines I have loads of heavy support and only two troops but in a transport, so I can rush out and pinch an objective or two after shooting the enemy into submission haha

There's a huge amount of fat in this list and lots of poor options taken. Starting at the top:
Commander should have two of the same weapons not mix and match (same goes for all crisis teams). Pick what you want him to do and streamline him. In general the Iridium Armour gives far more survivability than the shield generator for the same points. He's a lot of points for what he does anyway so perhaps you should consider a drone controller to get a real benefit from him (bs5 Marker lights that can move and shoot or Bs10 gun drones are both lols).
Too many points spent on troops at this point level. I spend 216 total points on troops at 1750 with 4 slots filled. You've spent nearly double that on just 2 troops choices. You don't need a devilfish or indeed any vehicles in a Tau army.
Single man Crisis teams aren't great unless you're going double fusion and suicide tank hunting. Likewise they need two of the same weapon. By cutting your troops back to 4 units of 6 Fire Warriors or 3 units of 9, you should be able to boost the Crisis teams to 3 men. Double plasma or double Missile Pod are generally the best options on 3 man teams.
Shielded Missile Drones are a waste of points. They are double the cost of a normal missile drone for no real benefit. Get atoms for the Riptide as it will help him as he's your fire magnet.
One unit of marker drones is pointless and marker drones are a waste of time unless paired with a drone controller. One unit of 6 Pathfinders will not be enough ML support.
Hammerhead is OK (I assume the Ion cannon as its the better weapon) but for me should be used only in full mech lists.
Broadsides are awesome get the EWO though as that is best support system. Again I assume HYMP on all of them as that is by miles and miles the best weapon. Get them max missile drones always as missile drones are amazing and they are the only unit that can take them.
