I have narrowed it down to Wood elves or high elves
Most likely high elves, and was considering buying the island of blood set, I have the codices on PDF and my mate will pay half for the skaven
Does it contain enough models to start or what else would I need to buy
Will most likely buy eldrad*cough*teclis(sculpts are similar) as apparently he is really good
Really like magic
Looking forward to responses

Well actually the Skaven in iob are good. Lots of magic potential with them.
Again as previously mentioned definitely buy the army book, you can't go to a flgs or gw store with that lol I know it's expensive but it's kind of mandatory.
As for wood elves vs high elves, the high elves are alot more competitive and easier to use when just starting out.
Wood elves will need a lot of practice and a perfect build almost.
Both are decent with magic but high elves will be easier to use and learn with.
The box set is alright it has a griffon but I don't think you can use it till you have enough points which you should consider

IOB is a nice starting point. You are going to want a lot of things but pace yourself. IOB gives you enough models to game with and paint if that is your thing.

You will probably want an additional box of spearmen to flesh out your core.

The phoenixes are a great addition as you grow your army further.

You will want dragon princes and perhap pickup the high elf noble box set to get a prince on horseback and a BSB to go with your units.

Go High Elves. they are fun tactical and as long as you avoid putting 40-50 whitelions and characters in a banner unit no one will hate you.

8000 Dark Angels (No primaris)
10000 Lizardmen (Fantasy I miss you)
3000 High Elves
4000 Kel'shan Ta'u
