I would like to see a Herald of Nurgle from the Daemons codex be able to take a Plague drone mount. As of now they are the only Herald who cannot take a mount that allows 12" move. They are also the only herald that only has one mount upgrade, while others have a chariot and a 12" move mount. Nurgle gets a pallequin, making them tougher, but keeping them slogging with the rest of the guys. Meanwhile, the other 3 can boost their fast attack and elite units by adding a herald, leading to powerful units like screamer star and boosting up the power of hounds or seeker quite a bit (initiative 10 seekers or fiends?)
So, I propose the herald mount is the following.
A herald of Nurgle may take a plague drone mount for +80pt.
The herald would gain +1T, +2A, +2W and becomes jetpack cavalry.
The point cost is comparable to the chariots that other heralds can get, and the stat increase is attempting to keep in line with how other mount upgrades seem to be when comparing a troop, to the mounted variant, as well as what the herald gets as a bonus. The points are almost double what a single herald costs, but that is because this would turn the herald into a mini MC. T6, 4W, 5A and the option to take an AP2 weapon, FnP and some multiwound body guards, who would also have FnP. The chance to get iron arm could make this herald super awesome, which is why I am still on the fence about +1T, which seems to be the most powerful part of the upgrade.
I propose this rule because it is widely accepted that plague drones just don't have the offensive output to do more than tie up an enemy for a long time and maybe kill them. The big downside to this, it is might open up a new "deathstar" for daemons, and I know how much everyone likes that.
So what do you think? Heralds on flies?
