Hey guys I'm making a Daemons list to play in friendly games. I normally run a Tzeentch FMC list but its not very friendly. People at my gaming store never really embraced the introduction of flyers so more than 2+ is generally frowned upon. I'm trying to make a Tzeentch list that isnt entirely FMC based but is still strong.

I'm thinking something like this for a "bomb" list at 1500. Basically the Screamers shoot forward with the prince and LoC and the horrors drop down next to them. The "bomb" will drop down and destroy any light infantry. The screamers will take care of heavy infantry and vehicles. The LoC and prince will kill anything the rest of the army cant.

Not sure how friendly this is going to be.

When shooting for a list that people wont find super OP and not wish to play, making it harder to get 2++ rerollable on screamers is not the same as not brining 2++ rerollable screamers.

Dropping fateweaver or the grimoire is the way to give people a fighting chance when facing deamons if they have a competative list.

Mono Tzeentch is going to be hard to find a "friendly list," sure this list may not fair as well as a tooled out one v.s. tournament lists, but it still trumps nearly all non optimized lists.

A friendlier Tzeentch List would something along the lines of 2 heralds, two 6 man sceamer units, 3 10 man horros, and add some flamers in. Drop the Prince to ML1.

You could also alternatively take fateweaver and drop the grimoire.

Taking Grimoire'd Screamers is no less friendly than someone siezing the initiative and dropping 10 Sternguard 1st turn and wiping out your deployed Herald+ Screamers before they pop the Grimoire.. It's unfortunate that you have to modify the way you play for others.

If you want "friendly"

-Never get Grimoire
-Don't use Tzeentch Monstrous Creatures

All I'm saying is that the list you posted is already very good. It can be better and more competitive... but it is good and scary to "friendly" lists. A good player can be very unfriendly with your list.

That's ridiculous. Unfriendly would be bringing the screamerstar flying circus list. Just because Daemons are in an excellent place right now is no reason people should be telling us what wargear to take and what not to take. That's just crazy. Just because the list is semi competitive doesn't make it unfriendly. I like the list man but here's my advice.

Take Fateweaver over the LOC, he gives you tons of Dakka with Prescience. Put the grimoire on a herald on a disk, and roll him with the screamers or near the screamers. That way he can keep up and keep giving them the grimoire. Also, another reason to bring fatey is if the grimoire fails you can reroll it!

With those changes, I think the list will be semi competitive and friendly and I think you'll have a blast playing it. Just remember this one thing, when a codex is in a good place, haters are certainly gonna hate. Don't listen to them, bring what you like and have fun. It's your hobby not there's remember that!

@daly Yea taking fateweaver with grimoire would be "unfriendly in my mind"

Thanks for the feedback guys . People at my gaming store are just very casual. Nobody brings lists that would even make it past one round in a tournament of any kind. Its not like theyre trying to force me to play something I otherwise wouldnt.
