Hello Everyone,

Our first Kickstarter for The AFTERLIFE Volumes is NOW LIVE and runs until the 16th November.

This first project is limited in scope- covering four new units plus any weapon/equipment upgrades if we raise more than our target.

We are also making a booklet introducing the Volumes with some fantastic art and written material. We are very fortunate to have Mark Latham (formally Chief Editor of White Dwarf and writer and editor of a lot of recent 40K material) as a contributor and editor for the booklet which means it should turn out great!

When we launch the main game next year, these units will form a core for the first two skirmish factions.
I will be noting any updates to the project in this thread, and welcome your suggestions, questions and general feedback on the project.

Thanks Dakka for all your support in the 2.5 years since I started Anvil (The time has flown by!) and thanks in advance if you can support us in our new venture!

Sorry if i missed it but are the new models multi-part and posable or are they single casts or extremely limited on their posability?

Looks pretty good so far.

Limited parts/posability currently I believe Hulk, in order to keep costs down and kit detail up.

This is on the KS page:

Figures will consist of 2-4 parts (depending on complexity) and will be designed for easy and fast preparation, assembly and undercoating. Every set of legs or arms will be a unique pose. If we exceed our funding target we will be able to add extra options like alternative weapons and Sergeants.

Yep to give a more detailed answer -

There are certain posed which actually benefit from fewer parts - fir example having a guy aiming down his rifle sight is only really possible if the torso/head/weapon are all one piece.

My general plan with AFTERLIFE stuff is to keep the amount of components as low as possible, as there are lots of advantages-

More flexibility with posing
better detail
fewer mould lines/resin gates to remove
much easier to clean up and assemble
more durable
Cheaper to manufacture, so lower retail price - this helps keep them competitive compared to mass produced plastics.

To ensure there is still lots of variety, we will be making as many different poses for each set as we can, and also making different "versions" of the same minaitures set, so a mould for infantry with berets, and a mold for the same infantry with gasmasks etc..

Cheers,

Joel
