So there's a double tourney coming up at my LFGC, 1500 per side 2v2. I'm thinking of drafting my IG friend into this.

Restrictions are
No Flyers
No double Elites, FA or HS
No Fortifications
No Allies.

So I'm thinking something in the style of this

Farseer

Warlock

10 Guardians w/Shuriken cannon in Wave serpent w/twin Scatterlasers and Holofields
10 Guardians w/Shuriken cannon in Wave serpent w/twin Scatterlasers and Holofields

Fire Prism

I'm still considering between keeping it as it is (The Farseer would roll twice on runes of fate hoping for Doom and then grab prescience) or dropping the Warlock for Holofields on the Prism and Vector Engines on the Wave serpents, so I don't have to expose their rear to the enemy AT. The thought with this is that the FP stays back and lays down covering fire/takes out tanks/takes out any Meq in the open while the two wave serpents roll up, jump out, double guide (and possibly doom), and then nuke something with the guardians, (36 regular shuricat shots and 6 shuricen cannons not factoring in the serpents!).

What do you guys think, a strong list? Or one that will get curbstomped?

I will upload my friends list as well when he gives it to me so you can work with that.

Can you cast blessings on your ally? If so, the seer is going to be awesome. If not...the seer is just OK.

I second dropping the warlock for holos on the prism, but instead of vectored engines take chin cannons or a ghostwalk matrix on each serpent. Both are great, depending on your playstyle.

I would definitely drop the Warlock for chin cannons on the Serpents and Holo-Fields on the Fire Prism.

Hopefully your IG ally can play a mechanized list as well. Deploying nothing but AV12 vehicles is a wonderful thing. Make sure he brings some melta!

semas fun list. warlocks power will only go off about 2/3 of the time, so i would drop him for 100% of the time usefull stuff like holofeilds.

Yea seems like I'll be dropping the warlock.

My friend will be bringing two units of vets (one with meltas and one with flamers I think), some sort of hq. LRBT, LR vanquisher (I think, it's the one with high strength, low ap and rolls two dice for armour pen) along with a hellhound.

i honestly didnt think that lr was that good. one shot at high s, low ap, wont do much agaisnt anything. sure it will pen, but then youve only got 1/3 chance of destroying it.
now, i dont play ig, saying this just from what ive learned facing them.

? Holofields only have an effect 1 in 6 times if you move and 0 effect if you don't. Not sure where you're getting 100% from?

As for the list the Farseer can't doom when inside the transport and can only guide the unit he's in a transport with. So all in all he's pretty worthless in this list.

Warlocks are good but a luxury and should only be taken if you've spare points.

You need a Mantleseer if you want the psychic powers, though at this point level you might just want to leave him at home. Solitarch would be a good HQ at this point level or just take a Spiritseer cause he's cheap.

Personally I find for the extra 5 points the Starcannon really helps the Guardians out. Though again at this point level the weapon platform may be best left at home.

The reason for the farseer is that I thought that you could use the blessings anytime during your movement phase, so after I've disembarked. But he might still be useful for buffing the unit he's with,

Okay for doubles:

If you can take 2 HQs
Total: 976 (gives you some points to play around with)

HQs:
155 - Farseer w/ jetbike,mantle,
115 - Farseer w/ jetbike

Troops:
225 - Guardians x 10 w/ Wave Serpent w/ TL SL + Holofields
51 - Windrider Jetbikes x 3

FA:
190 - Warp Spiders x 10 (NO UPGRADES!!! NOT WORTH IT ON SPIDERS)

HS:
240 WraithKnight (Base is great AT/Firemagnet/Jmp MC/ beat stick, which is how its going to be utilized in this list...not worth the 60 points for suncannon, etc. Just make sure to keep the tiniest bit of base in Area Terrain for a 5+ cover save. With 5+ cover litterally takes 20 Missles launched at it to kill it (everything that can ignore cover isn't low AP). Also it ignores the penalties for jumping in terrain since it is a MC)

If you can't take 2 HQ's drop the Jetbikes, Farseer, and 2 Warp spiders to double up on guardians

997:

HQ:
HQs:
155 - Farseer w/ jetbike,mantle,

Troops:
225 - Guardians x 10 w/ Wave Serpent w/ TL SL + Holofields
225 - Guardians x 10 w/ Wave Serpent w/ TL SL + Holofields

FA:
152 - Warp Spiders x 8

HS:
240 WraithKnight

Second list might be stronger overall...but Jetbikes are SUPER useful in objective games

oh yeah and guardians should be in serpents to dakka everything close and personal then Battle Focus away. Not pew-pewing from half a board away...you waste like 90 points that way.

The points limit is 750 and I own neither a Wraithknight, Jetseer, Jetbikes, (only thing jet i have is a mantletaurch) or warp spiders.

Well then do the 2 guardians with Wave Serpents with just TL SL, and Holo Fields. Do the Matletaurch as a Farseer with Mantle on Jetbike (if anyone has issue with that not being "WYSIWYG" ask them if they have trouble distinguishing a single jetbike from the Wave Serpents and troops you have on the board. If they say no, tell them to not be a tool then)

To Fill out the rest of your points:
2 War Walkers with either 2x BL or SL/Shuriken Cannon (seriously it is almost as good vs Termies as Star Cannon, but way better vs. Vehicles, and cheaper. Unless you are planning on hanging back with them with the other Imperial Guard, in which case get them SL/Star Cannons

Oh yeah you'll have 5 points left over. Add a Singing spear to Farseer for that little bit of extra Anti Tank.
