Get in close and get in there fast. I think it only has access to one D weapon though, so if he takes it, you lose basically.

What does D do? Can I rely on cover saves? What units are good to use against it? Thanks.

Best way would be to get some fire dragons close. As they cannot deep strike this will be very difficult if your oppo can screen it with his ordinary troops.

You could try deep striking warp spiders into the rear arc. Assault with swooping hawks (haywire grenades).
Take 3 fire prisms and a lot of bright lances in the troops slot. Take the void shields down and then finish it with the prisms.

Thanks, can it be assaulted? Are tough units like wraithknight, lord & guard worth using? Does it ignore cover, skyfire or instant death my dudes? Do vehicles evaporate in a second?

It literally ignores everything.
Something like 3 squads of firedragons in serpents will kill it. But anything it points it's D weapon at dies in one hit: no saves of any kind. It's got shields and high armour if I remember right. :/

What army are you fighting him with - Eldar?

Also are you using Formations in response - if so try a Dark Eldar Ravager Squadron - they are quite likely to ignore his shields They are also going to be his number one target -- so in our recent Appocalpse game allowed the WraithKnight to remain untouched..........

1. get two wave serpents with fire dragons and get them in close, have both fire at them, use warp spiders on anything that tryes to stop the wave serpents.
2. get warp spiders or behind it, probs wont destroy it, but at least you wont be shot at for a little while.
if you like wraith units, try the next two
1. charge a blob (2 squads) of wraithblades at it, using wave serpents (2) with guardians as a distraction (have them come around the sides),.
2. wraithguard and knight spam, lots of D scythes, or wraithcannons.. WRAITHGUARD > bacon AND russ. boom.

Some Tomb World in some galaxy by that one thing in that one place (or Minnesota for nosy people)

Strength D ignores all saves and iirc FnP as well. When it hits non-vehicles it deals multiple wounds either d3 or d6 or no wounds at all depending on what he roles on the table. When it hits vehicles it will deal a ton of hull points or at least a pen minimum.

Depending on what weapons he brings on it you may not stand a chance. If he makes both weapons double turbo lasers you have lost. Nothing you can really get in a normal dex can fight one without throwing the game in the process.

How many points are you playing? Personally I would take formations from the apocalypse book to fight it. Getting t1 will basically deside the game for you because he should know what will do the most damage right away and kill it instantly. The fire prism formation will be thorn in the titans side. Spam Fragons in serpents with the upgrade that allows their serpents to flat out 24 so you can get point blank for the melta shots next turn.

Keep everything that's important spread out to avoid colateral damage from the lasers scattering. This will be an uphill battle if he bring a plasma and a laser or double lasers. If you end up going second reserve the prisms and hide the fragons behind terrain (it doesn't have any barrage weapons or anything so he can't shoot you if he can't see you). Create nice juicy clumps for him to kill instead of the fragons with some cheap stuff like guardian blobs. Reserve some jetbikes for last minute scoring darts.

If you kill the titan you should be able to win since he invested so much points into it.

There is really no way to deal with titans in a regular game except taking him by suprise with something he didn't know you have.

How many hullpoints it got? maybe you can try to sneak a haywire grenade assault.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Bring the Sunstorm Prism formation. Fight fire with fire. With just 4 you have a Str D AP1 shot that can be directed from any of the prisms. Ask to take tactical assets from Apoc and grab blinding barrage. It will essentially shut down his warhound (and most of his army) for one turn while you can sneak one prism around the edge on your turn and combine fire on all of them for that D shot.

Besides that, try Corsairs+ Eldar. Corsair Prince was made for taking out super-heavies. Allowing up to 3 Fire Dragon squads to deepstrike is pretty crazy, especially since he can get a shadowfield to deal with return fire. Just get ~10 FD into melta range and you have a good chance of just killing him right there.

Tau allies with a full team of crisis suit and two (non-twinlinked) fusion blasters is pretty good (six deepstirking melta shots at 9" range), especially if you can get it's void shields down . It can turn out to be a suicide mission, but hey 250 or so points for a titian. Otherwise I would recommend lots of fire dragons, and prism cannons.

Rubicant99 - your friend is playing a little bit unfair, especially since it sounds like you have no idea how Apocalypse rules work for Titans or D-Weapons.

I would make sure your friend gives you an extra 200-300 points on your army, or lets you proxy something as an Eldar titan. Unless you're just playing a friendly game and you don't care about losing at all, and just want to play with the new toy.

Fire Dragons are one of your best sources. I've seen them take out several Titans in Apocalypse games. Try to bring two squads so he can't kill one of them the first turn.

You don't counter a Warhound because you don't use them in a normal game. There are two ways this game will go, depending on your exact lists and luck with the dice. Either:

1) The Warhound kills everything with its D-weapons and you get tabled while barely touching the titan.

or

2) Your dedicated anti-titan list kills the Warhound in one turn (probably before it gets to shoot) and you table your opponent effortlessly because they don't have a viable army left once the titan dies.

In neither situation do you or your opponent have any fun with the game, so why bother doing it?

They didn't. That's a 5th edition datasheet that just happens to still be on the server if you know the link to it already.

I often play semi-normal games with super-heavies in them (so not Apocalypse, but using FOC with 4-6k points each).

It works well if both sides have an equal amount of super-heavies but not too many. Otherwise the person going first just has too much firepower.

Mind you, we usually limit oursevels to super-heavy tanks and don't take Titans.

Alternate strategy is to reserve as much as you can. Or use the Apocalypse rules and reserve everything!
