Let me preface this by saying that all of my local gaming clubs allow forgeworld rules and models. That being said...
I'm one of the relatively few people it seems that actually really likes the new plastic Razorshark/Sunshark model and really dislikes the Forgeworld Barracuda model. That being said, is it generally considered ok to convert a GW model into something that uses forgeworld rules? I have an unassembled Razorshark, and I dislike the rules for both the Razor and Sunshark, so I've been toying with the idea of changing it into a Barracuda. I've got all the parts I need to do so (extra ion cannon, etc) so it would be fully WYSIWYG. I just wanted to know if this practice is generally acceptable or if there's an unwritten rule that forgeworld rules MUST be used with forgeworld models.
Second, what are the firing arcs of the guns on a Barracuda. The guns on the codex tau fliers have a very open arc of fire whereas the barracuda seems much more fixed. I don't want to be accused of modelling for advantage or anything like that if I mount the ion cannon in a way that gives it a wider firing arc than standard.
Any comments/advice would be great.
