@Tasty: Why no priests in the 20 girl blob? Instead of just holding against the wraithguard, you would have eaten them up like crazy with Smash attacks and reroll wounds. Also, Litanies of Faith is practically required for that unit. It is expensive but totally worth it.

My Unit is: 20 Sisters with Simulacrum, Jacobus, 5 Priests (one with Litanies))
You get 6 Hymns per turn automatic from the Litanies. 2 for Reroll Wounds and Reroll Saves, 4 Guys smashing with AP2. Don't take an eviscerator, it's a waste of points.

For all the failed pinning checks, did you account for Uriah's 12" bubble of Fearless-ness?

Jacobus was too far away, unfortunately.

Not sure what sacrifice tasty made to what dark god but his dice seems to have improved.

Interesting game and seems to have been reasonably close. Was there any particular reason the exorcists were deployed so far forward? Being relic I tend to deploy to ~36" of the relic with my 48" heavy hitters seeing as how the important stuff has to move up to it.

I also agree that priests are just amazing in the new "dex". They gain the smash rule BTW and they don't have to smash. This makes mace priests just silly good as you get 3 (4 on charge) Str 5 AP2 attacks or 2 Str 8 AP2 attacks. With all the rerolls they can mulch pretty much anything they can survive to hit. Even a wraithknight has to seriously rethink charging in.

Great batrep, entertaining as always. Love the Dos Equis bit about the wraithguard.

Question about the skyshield landing pad. can exorcists sit up there? I though vehicles couldn't sit on top of a building unless they are skimmers? I could be wrong...im wayyy too lazy to go check my BRB.

It's actually not a building - skyshield landing pads are clear terrain on top, and simply a dangerous test to get onto/off of.

Grav lifts, i guess...

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

@tetrisphreak & urra8188

Yeah, it's bizarre. You just have to take a difficult test to go up or down the skyshield. Kind of weird but hey.

@ansacs

Yeah, his dice certainly picked up but then that critical turn when half his army got pinned was the nail in the coffin. He could have conceivably taken down the Wraithknight that turn had that not happened and then won the game. But that gave me the turn I needed to smash him and seal up the game.

But yeah, Priests are crazy. We both saw in that game how useful they would have been. It would have allowed him to win that grind in the middle of the table and take the relic, winning the game. As it was, he'd occasionally fail a Warhym and then Karadnras would kill a handful of Sisters and that is how I won that grindfest of a fight.

This is why Litanies of Faith is so crucial to the sister-star. Not having to roll for Hymns is just too good for 15 points.

I think I may have accidentally ordered the scenes wrong and it threw you off in that part. Sorry about that!

Good Batrep, and this may sound weird, but you sound like Matt Jones(Badger from Breaking Bad)

I'll pile on with the Priest stuff. Adding a Priest with an Eviscerator is 55 pts. A Priest with Litanies is 40 pts and they both get 2 S6 AP2 attacks, but the cheaper Priest strikes at I3 not I1. Even better if Uriah's in the mix, your Litanies Priest can do the reroll saves Hymn and Uriah will get 3 S6 AP2 swipes at I4.

@deadrifler

Hahaha, dude, I get that at least once a day! =)

Glad you like the videos.

@Amerikon

Yeah, Nick came tot he same conclusion. It would have made that fight a breeze for him, he would have chewed me up and having two means that he can have one take the challenge from Karandras.

Piling in yet again (since I'm working on lists right now)

Priest with Power Maul is 40 points and is either S5 AP4, S5 AP2 (with Hymn) or S8 AP2 (with Hymn and Smashing). All at I3. Much better than an eviscerator.

I'm trying out (for priest loadout):
Uriah
Priest with Litanies/Maul
Priest with Maul
Priest with Maul
Priest
Priest

The two stock priests do Reroll Saves and Wounds. Uriah and the 3 Maul priests do Smash. That's a lot of smashy.

I am thinking about the same build for my wife, but to also include 4 Crusaders to act as meatshields

@pretre
Have you considered combi-flamers for the non power maul priests? They will probably never be using their smash hym anyways so their extra CC attack is rather meaningless and a flamer template is always nice.

I'm trying to keep points low and they stay in the middle/back of the blob anyways, so flamers would only be good for overwatch. It's an idea though.
