I had a quick question. I was looking at the Imperial Armour books on Forgeworld. What would be better to get for starting DKOK? The Siege of Vraks or Imperial Armour Volume 1 Second Edition- Imperial Guard?

I believe there are two types of list for Krieg.

The Siege list found in the Siege of Vraks, which has been heavily FAQ'd for 6th ed and the Assault Brigrade from the fall of Orpheus, which was designed for 6th edition.

Neither.

IA5-7 contain fluff for the DKoK, but their rules are obsolete. The siege regiment army list ("conventional" DKoK with hordes of infantry and towed artillery guns) is now a pdf in the FW download section.

IA12 contains fluff and the DKoK assault brigade army list (grenadiers as troops and lots of tanks).

IA1 contains nothing at all about the DKoK and is only useful if you're using the codex IG (with FW units added) or armored battlegroup army lists with your DKoK models.

Generally the siege regiment is better than the assault regiment, thought the assault does have grenadiers in the troop slot. The Heavy artillery platforms are just so strong that i can deal with the weaker troops.

I started the assault list because they have some difference in the elite and heavy slot that work more for me than the siege list and we can have carcass shell for the heavy mortar and engineers.

I have allied the two lists to great effect. That way you can get a commisar and heavy weapon platforms into the assault list, and grenadier troops into the siege list, they synergise quite well
