Hey all.

Kind of new to the playing aspect of 40k.

I'm looking to make Dark Eldar my main (with the ocassional Eldar allies for some Wraithknight beefyness and jetbike shenanigans).

Can passengers throw grenades from open topped fast skimmers?

I'm thinking of just Flat Out-ing some raiders and venoms filled with wyches by and flinging haywire grenades, but I'm not sure if this is legal, and I wantd to make sure before I buy said venoms.

You can throw grenades as Snap Shots provided that they aren't Blast grenades. Keep in mind that you can only throw one grenade per squad per shooting phase.

Flat-Out will also prevent passengers from shooting (BRB, page 78).

Ah crappy. That's right Hawire aren't blast... dang. So why do people call Wyches tank huntesr when they are only throwing 1 per squad? Or can you get out and each one of them stick a grenade on a vehicle target?

That way,then left

In the shooting phase only one member of the unit may throw a grenade, but in the assault phase each member can swap out its basic attacks for a single grenade attack.

Awesome thanks! Can you move flat out and still disembark/charge if it's considered an "assault" vehicle?

Disembarking happens in the movement phase.
Going flat-out is in the shooting phase, so no.
You may only disembark if your transport moved 6" or less, unless you've got a special rule stating so.
If you do disembark from your open-topped vehicle you'll be able to charge, provided nothing else prevents it.

I've been considering this myself, honestly, and for the most part it seems like you'll be waiting until at least turn 2 to charge with your Wyches. But, at that point they can indeed Haywire in the assault phase on a 1-for-1 basis, which has a damn good chance of killing pretty much any vehicle they make it into base to base with.

Armageddon, Pry System, Armageddon Sector, Armageddon Sub-sector, Segmentum Solar.

Side stepping to tactics wise fitting the transport with a darklance makes the unit collectively better at tankhunting as well, they are hard to beat for straight up tank hunting.

Also, tactics wise: you can throw a grenade at a flier... Small probability of success, buts it's no different than tossing a grenade out of a vehicle that moved at cruising speed.

I had never even thought of that, thanks for the laugh: Game workshop, where high-altitude zoomers can be brought down by a hand-lobbed grenade....

8th made it so I can no longer sway Tau onto the side of Chaos, but they will eventually turn aside from their idea of the Greater Good to embrace the Greatest of pleasures.
