Post me your favorite Cryx lists that don't include either of them. Bonus points for including a model that everyone thinks sucks.

Of course a better response is Mortenebra. Any of the Deneghras or Skarres can work without banes (Skarre1 with mechanithralls is scary). I kinda like Scaverous with banes so ignore him.
See, this is too wide a question. No Asphyxious2 still leaves 13 casters to choose from, and of those only Goreshade really demands banes.

What's so awful about them? With the right marshall they get to RNG 14 with 3 dice to hit to get that lovely knockdown. With a caster who has snipe they can instead push people they hit/if they crit do an extra dice damage (against whoever is directly hit) while still benefiting from 3 dice to hit. Seems just as good as it would be on a caster, except you can't boost 2 of the damage rolls. Meh. You are Cygnar, if you don't have other ranged things to capitalise on the knockdown what are you doing? Wait can they push people they hit if they knock them down? Both effects happen 'on a hit' and 'on a direct hit'. I would think this gives the controlling player the choice, but who knows.

@ Sanctjud: Needs moar Banes? Prboably not, they're supposed to be Bane free lists.
