Hey man, glad to see another fan of ethreals! Seem to be a dying breed nowadays

What weapons do you hammerheads have? Rail guns or ion cannons? If rail guns get submunitions rounds for hordes. I think 2 hammerheads is a bit much though at 1000 points, can't see you coming across enough av14 to warrant 2 str 10 shots. Also get disruption pods on your hammerheads, moving up to 6' a turn for a 4+ jink save is amaze balls. I would drop the velocity tracker on you riptide and give it ion. Keep velocity as intercepting pie plates on deepstrikers and pods is also amaze balls. With the points from these changes you can get yourself a basic adl for 50pts, put some missle drones in the broadsides, also give your broadsides missles and a velocity tracker. That way they are awesome anti air with 12 str 7 intercepting shots, and you can still fire your smart missles as something else next turn. Put your ethreal in the broadsides, behind the adl with a fire warrior squad on each side for pulse bubble and away you go.

well id rather keep the riptide as my main anti air and ill do the changes on the hammer heads which have Rail guns

why use ion it has a chance of over heating and doent get as many shots

ive seen to many people spam missiles and really don't like them

I played in a 1000p tourney when I was still new to tau

my list was
aunva
cadre
2 squads of fire warriors
1 small squad of path
1 riptide
1 longstrike hammer
1 ion hammer
1 skyray

and no one could deal with 3 AV13 at 1000p

I took that cuz that was all I had but it worked well

as for your list..
I dunno looks good to me.. but what I usually do is take the riptide with ion
ion is AP 2 with higher strength
and id take a smart missile system

then if i was against someone with AV10 or 11 I would nova charge my second weapon and intercept with that

also I had a skyray too, and its so useful
