Subject: Need Some Help to Improve My Painting 40k and Fantasy (Lots of Pics)
Hey everyone,
So I have been painting for under a year and have gained some experience with different techniques but I still feel my painting is lacking.
I want to improve to make these models and y armies stand out a bit more than normal.
I am going to add a few pictures of some of my recent work just so anyone can help me improve with different techniques or particular stuff.
I hope this isn't asking to much but I won't be offended if you say my stuff looks bad Only way to get better is to hear what I am doing wrong and what I need to do better.
Here are a few pictures from my Tau project (the piranha is still work in progress)
Here are a few pictures of a few models from my skaven army

Really like the clanrat, and the grey/green tau scheme Pretty solid grasp of the basics, some darker shadows might help to bring out certain aspects of the models, maybe a darker wash in the recesses. (perhaps oil washing - something which im keen to try out myself)
Or the reverse, more intense highlights to the same effect of making things pop out a bit more.
A fiendish combination of the two is prob the best bet.
'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!

Thanks for the comments I think I need some more highlights you are probably right, I do think that the oil wash would be an interesting thing to try for the darker models Funny how you liked the clanrat because that was the model I spent the least time on approx. under 30 minutes :p
I forgot to add this picture of my xv8 suit which I need to do some harder highlights on or do something more like the piranha
