I'm looking for a few specific types of items for conversions, but have next to no idea where to go about getting them:

- wires and tubes. I see tons of this stuff, especially in 40K, but I've never been able to find anything that would work.

- metal plating. Specifically, I'm trying to find something to replicate the metal braces on the Skaven Warp Lightning Cannon and Screaming Bell.

- anything else that isn't necessarily a piece of a model that you've found useful to replicate Tesla coils, generators, engines, etc.

What's worked for you guys, in the past?

1+2 Styrene. Strips and round or tube.

3 Old electro bits from striped radio's or vcr's. ( there;s even pre coiled bit's in there... )

Duct tape is like the force. It has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together.

Balsa wood, plasticard, if you have a train store nearby give them a visit.

Bits and pieces from old electronics, spark plugs, automotive supplies.

Sounds like you want a "tentacle and hose maker" I think it was called. Can do things like this:

Very simple tool, 2 plastic bopards with ridges on them, put a bit of green stuff in and roll them together. Different boards give different effects. Check out this video from Buy Painted which shows you what it can do.

Thanks, everyone! I'll be looking into all of these options.
