Subject: What IA book for nurgle/death guard?

Hello,
I have been working on my CSM Nurgle/Death Guard army for about a year now. I have gotten to about 2000 points and would like to start getting into apoc.
I know the apoc units are in the IA books and online data sheets but I have no idea what the best one to get for burgle would be.
I only really want to get one book because of the cost, so If there are any of the free data sheets that FW releases online, those would be amazing as well, but as I said, I don't know where to find them.
Thanks so much for the help, Igloo

There's a good bit of information about the Death Guard and Mortarion in The Horus Heresy: Massacre!

Can I only use those units in 30k though?

It is designed for 30K (which of course is a 40K variant). Personally, I would love to try my luck against a 30K army list.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

I don't have the newest IA:Apoc book, but I can run through the others and let you know what's there.

So if it is designed for 30k, I can't use it in a 40k tournament right?

Correct. In a straight up point for point battle 30k would be hard to beat. For Apoc you'd likely be ok, but you'd want to check where you play. That, and the current HH books are still mostly pre chaos.

OK, in that case, I would only want books/rules for for current chaos. I would be fine with IA units that are for 40k or apoc, but not 30k.

Sigh
Play the game first before saying things like this.
Hh units are more expensive at base cost and alot less adaptable, for example if you want to have meltas then it will cost you 225 for 5 in a squad of 5, easy to kill.
Tacticals don't get specials or heavies and don't have know no fear so can be swept, in short hh units are more expensive less flexible and are worse (in general) than there 40k counterparts.
I would be remiss not to mention some things that are pure awesome, rapier batteries, phosphex medusa and predator squadrons.
To summarise though, a hh deathguard force is very niche, it's got a fair few varieties of terminators now, shred and gets hot template weapons and the ability to make frags poisoned, mortarion is so far one of the better primarchs, if playing deathguard take lots of flamers and phosphex weapons and mass infantry, this will play to your strengths quite well.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Imperial_Armour_Books/IMPERIAL_ARMOUR_APOCALYPSE.html is the book for you to go with. the 2nd pic is the table of contents, ton of chaos in there for ya. FW puts lots of non Apoc units in the Apoc books these days. Automatically Appended Next Post: Formosa wrote: whalemusic360 wrote:Correct. The SoH Horus lead Justaerin at 2000 points kicked the gak out of my 2000 point deathwing list. All the specialist units in HH range from real good to not bad. If you were just using Tac marines, why would you even be playing 30k? Don't assume someone is just repeating what they've read online.

I also play deathwing and justarin termies are not great and expensive, horus is what did it for him
What list did you use and what did he use?, as deathwing should easily table a sons of horus army, dw knights especially are nasty to a hh army.

IA: Apocalypse (2013) has the latest rules. Its pretty much the current go to book for much of the FW line.
I'd also echo that HH: Massacre is a great resource for anything Death Guard. The Legion list gives you another way to play as well. I'd look into it further if I were you.
