Subject: What ordinance to park in the corner behind an ADL?

Trying to pre-plan my ig list before I start buying them. I know I want to stick a squad of 1-3 ordinance weps in a corner behind an ADL, maybe with camo netting. The rest of the army will be the usual stuff like vets, vendettas, etc. So whats the best ordinance set up to put in the corner behind the wall?

Manticores are a pretty good default option if you don't have a better idea of what specialists you might want. They're great against anything infantry short of MEQs, and decent against vehicles. The Colossus is also a good option, AP 3 and no cover means it just massacres any infantry your opponent has camped on their objectives.
Also, Medusas do NOT have a barrage weapon, so parking them behind an ADL is rarely a good idea.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

If you want a good "Arty" IG list you cannot go wrong with Manticores, Medusas or Griffons. A fellow IG player at my store runs this to great effectiveness (he uses x1 Manticore, x2 Griffons and x2 Medusas) with Ironically the Griffons causing the most damage out of all of those options so far.

So far it's looking like 1 or 2 Manticores. Does only having 4 shots end up being much of a hindrance though? Also, yeah I tend to build take on all comers lists rather than tailor for specific types of opponents.

I would recommend you follow the ordinance that lets your ordnance get a cover save behind the Aegis. Wouldn't want your ordnance to get a parking violation you know.
As for good ol' artillery, I find that Manticores really get the job done. You only have 4 shots, sure, but that's usually more than you need. D3 Large Blasts at S10/AP4? Don't mind if I do.
Basilisks are always a good choice because they will murder Marines with some good rolling. Able to crack a tank too in a pinch.
Drop the camo netting though; place the Aegis and a Guard squad in front for cover saves and use the points elsewhere.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if the 1pt higher cover save was worth it or not.

I've found that just hunkering artillery down in the backfield behind the Aegis with some bubble wrap Guard squads all around improves longevity. Deep strikers have a hard time getting close due to potential mishaps, and you have enough bodies there to give you a cover save from any angle. With the points saved from the camo netting, you can invest in another lascannon somewhere.
