Hey guys I'm starting a new army because im selling my nurgle CSM. I'm looking to the future and wanted some opinions/speculation. I want to pick an army that will have multiple competitive builds like eldar or daemons do currently.

Things to consider:
Forgeworld being made official (this is definite)
Tyranid/Ork revamp.
Inquisition

Will eldar still reign supreme in the future especially with the introduction of forgeworld models or do you guys think the tyranid rumors look amazing? I already have some tyranid models but currently play daemons and was looking for a new playstyle. How fun are eldar to play?

No help? Where do we think Necrons will be in the competitive scene. They have dwindled in their dominance with each new codex drop.

I think the Eldar codex was super good. Right now people are complaining about Serpent Spam, but honestly what makes Eldar GREAT is currently overlooked. That is the ability to run lists that pretty much ignore the to hit part of the shooting phase...

1. the bump to BS4
2. the ability of Scatter Lasers to Laser Lock
3. Guide and Prescience being Primaris Powers
4. Jetbikes and Wave Serpents already run Twin-Linked Weapons
5. a Flier that is BS5
6. Exarchs that can man gun emplacements with BS5

Basically Eldar have become the first BS5 statline army and that is HUGE! Even after people scale back the Serpent Spam they will still be awesome. But you never know what GW has around the corner. I have my fingers crossed for Orks and Nids as I have always liked both armies.

Eldar is the most varied and flexible of the current top armies, however, they don't have much in FW except some alternate tank models and Shadow Spectres who are cool but not very good. They also won't be able to use Inquisitors.

I would recommend Imperial Guard. You have EDT and DKoK variants in FW, you have the most FW units out of any faction, and you will ally Inquisitors. If Tyranids stay as a MC army, you have the tools for that, and if Tyranids and Orks become the premiere horde army, you have tools for that as well.

Hail the Emperor.

Can necrons have competitive lists without spamming night scythes?

Do they have trouble handling Orks and Nids which are the next codexs?
