I would like to get a discussion going about the stalker. Most feedback I get is its bad, or storm talons are strictly better anti air. Amyone want to say different? Was thinking of running at least 2.

I think what you've heard is pretty accurate.

Note to the reader: my username is not arrogance. No, my name is taken from the most excellent of commanders: Lord Castellan Creed, of the Imperial Guar- I mean Astra Militarum - who has a special rule known only as "Tactical Genius"... Although nowhere near as awesome as before, it now allows some cool stuff for the Guar- Astra Militarum - player. FEAR ME AND MY TWO WARLORD TRAITS. |

I don't see how they are bad.
Cheap, semi durable and not useless at snap firing.
If you never play opponents who use Flyers, FMCs or Skimmers they're wasted but those three account for the majority of competitive army builds.

They're not great. Single-target mode is pretty reliable with 4 TL BS 4 shots, but dual-target is a straight-up trap, giving up TL and firing at BS 2. S 7 AP 4 is on the light side for serious anti-air duty, so you'll probably end up trying to kill things by stripping hull points. Durability-wise it's an up-armored Rhino, but the lack of Interceptor means it can't actually stop a flyer incursion until after at least two enemy shooting phases, which is plenty of time for it to get shot up before doing any good. If you're not willing to get your own flyers I'd go with the Hunter instead. S 7 AP 2 with Armourbane is much more likely to penetrate and outright kill something, and Savant Lock means you never truly miss Flyers or FMCs unless they run off the table and hide for a turn.
