So I have a small daemon allied detachment. But I have very little daemon experience. As I am running both Khorne (and this WILL NOT change as it fits my list and fluff) I am curious how those experienced daemon players would run them. I have the BT with two greater rewards - Aiming to make him tougher and gain survivability for combat. The DP is exactly the same, however I've added a lesser reward for the Axe of Khorne and the decapitation extra!

I'm considering a portalglyph, but I dont particularly want to reduce greater rewards - less chance of them being ridiculously tough!

I think the portalglyph is overrated personally.

However, a squads of Khorne Dogs (flesh hounds) goes a very long way.
Edit : They are cheap $$ wise too -- just convert dire wolves from fantasy

Thrister - 2 Greaters
Prince of Khorne - I wouldnt. I would run it as a second bloodthirster. In the daemons book the princes of khorne are literally the biggest waste. No psychic powers = no bueno.

But they're run as allies - I can't take a second BT. It has to be a DP.

Then take flesh hounds. No change of iron arm with no shooting means youre useles in the air and get ID often.

I want to keep all 3 FMC's, so I'm keeping the Khorne DP from the daemon dex!

SO! If you HAD to take one, how would you run him?

2 greater 1 lesser, he will be as expensive as the thirster, and does less overall, but if you are wanting to run a khorne one that is how I would do it. Aiming for feel no pain on greaters, with rerolling invulnerable or blade of blood the second one.

If you can fit it in the marine side of your army I would do that as he has access to daemon weapons that way.

I already have one in the marine side, he has the black mace...

Well my general advice on Daemon Princes is "they're scalpels, not sledgehammers" But that's mostly referring to how they're amazing force multipliers….that doesn't apply to Khorne Princes. If I had to run one? Man, hope you get lucky on greater gifts and maximize terrain. Keep him out of LOS as he moves, and always try to hit a flank, which inherently reduces the amount of shooting he takes.

Honestly though, a Khorne Prince is a waste of points.

Any thoughts on deep striking in Skarbrand?

I had aspirations of adding him, 20 Daemonettes and seekers to my horde CSM list with abbadon... Obviously I'd deep strike him in a good position to be within 12" of everything so probably the middle of the board (24" circle). Something about 100 attacks with hatred from the seekers on the charge just seems fun.

GW hates khorne. In both CSM and Daemons dex its the most underwhleming god (open for debate i guess)

Flesh hounds are amazin

Nah GW just hates melee. "Lets make a god that does nothing but Melee, and not even make him better at it than any of the other gods!"

I will second the sentiment that Khornehounds are great.

I will also second the sentiment that Khorne DPs are kind of lacking(IMO its due to how they were priced and the Psychic Disiplines they have access to, etc or in this case don't).

If I were to run one I would run a Khorne DP(Khorne, Wings, Armor) and that is it. 220pts gives you a Flying T5 MC with 6 S7 attacks on the charge. Keep him cheap, given the three FMCs in their face I know he's the one your opponent is going to target last.

That's what I thought, he's the easiest kill point out of the three, hence I was going to give him 2 greater rewards to increase his toughness and chance of surviving!
