I'm working on some heresy era marines for my dark angels, and I've always like the studded should pad look. I'm trying to make my guys look as authentic as possible in mk5 and mk6 armor so I googled some images. Is it me or is the shoulder badge with the chapter emblem worn on the right shoulder instead of the left on these armors?

I don't think it particularly matters, tbh. It seems to vary from armour type to armour type, chapter to chapter, company to company and even squad to squad at times.

It would be the right shoulder, going from the forgeworld kits.

But certain emblems are made to face forward (such as the salamanders), if you put em' on the left they don't look right.

If you swap sides, you flip the emblem.

Got it, so if they are heretical and worship Chaos, you put a mirror image of their emblem on their shoulder.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Thanks for all the feedback. I will be using dark angel transfers. The unit I am making will be able to stand in as two different units. I sometimes play my army using the Space Marine Codex and these guys will be my legion of the damned. I picture them as heresy era dark angels sucked into the warp during the destruction of Caliban, and deposited back into the world during my game. Sometimes I ally my dark angels with with space marines and turn my ravenwing into white scars. These models also being black can stand in as a tactical squad and be less confusing to my opponent or if I am playing straight up DA they can still be a tactical squad. Should look nice and distinctive when they are done.
