Greetings fellow battle-brothers ! I need help to prepare myself against one of my friends who is actually running Nids at each games. First I'll post my list, then I'll describe what he usually brings to the table.

Here's my list.

Captain: Artificier Armour, Burning Blade, Shield Eternal ,
Total: 215

Crusader x8 : SB , power weapon, Power fist, Plasma Gun,
Rhino
Total: 212

Crusader x8 : SB , power weapon, Power fist, Plasma Gun,
Rhino
Total: 212

Crusader x9 : SB, power weapon, Grav-Pistol, Power fist, Melta gun, CS/BP x5,
Land Raider Crusader
Total: 451

Dreadnought : Venerable, Plasma Cannon, ML
Total: 145

Dreadnought : Venerable, Heavy Flamer
Total: 135

Devastator Squad x5 : ML x2, Plasma Cannon x2
Total: 130

My opponent doesn't like running tervigon lists. He prefers to bring squads of heavy hitters with some swarms of meat shields, along with some MC.
His last list lokked like

Tyranid Prime with bonesword and a lot of bling (toxin, glands, etc).
Warriors x4 with boneswords, glands and toxin
2 Carnifex with scything claw
2x 15 termagaunts
maybe 20 gargoyles

He can also field trygons, raveners, genestealers, shrikes and biovores. All in all, he doesn't play pure nidzilla nor tervigon spam.
He prefers quality over quantity.

One question I am asking myself, should I replace the plasma guns with grav-guns for my crusaders in rhinos ? The thing is, they really have a short range when you think about it. And should I stick with the land raider crusader or take another kind ? Or should I get rid of one of the Dreadnought and increase the number of CC crusaders in the LRC ? Thing is, I really want to have the advantage when his nids and my guys get in assault.

Well, I dislike list tailoring, but with a Tyranid list that is that clearly defined, and with so many points tied up in high points cost models... you would do well to use lascannons, melta and missiles. I don't think that there is anything in that list that will stand up well to those, especially the Meltaguns... honestly that Tyranid list isn't very threatening. Expensive t4 models and carnifexes are hard to keep alive. Good luck.
