So Grey knights Null rod says it bearer and its unit are completely immune to spells, friendly or enemy.
So no maledictions, witchfires, no blessings...

Now this doesnt mean the Unit with the Null rod cant cast its own spells at another unit, clearly.

But The Null rod itself is a force weapon fyi, and rules for forceweapon says when the psychic test is passed , it effects the weapons.

What do you think, can a unit with null rod in it, still activate their force weapons t cause instant death?

Does Force activation affect the bearer, or the weapon?

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It effects the weapon as my first post states...

If the bearer and his unit cannot be affected by Psychic powers, and Force activation does not affect the bearer...

Ooh. So if a GK carries a Null Rod he can't use that last stand power? The one that removes the enemy if he hits. Since GK players always argue it affects the caster, not the enemy...

That particular power i would say definitely not... But Crowe who has it will never be in a unit with Null Rod, and i dont know to many people to use the 100 point brother, with 1 wound just to get that spell.

My argument is not how it is written, good imput and theories is what i was hoping for.

You gotta come down to the argument, psychic test is passed.. does the enemy get a deny the witch? As for force weapons no, therefore it might count as targeting its own unit... Arguments may come up a persons weapon is part of the unit.
Just trying to get some feedback on this rule before i finish making my Grey Knights list.

Activating a force weapon does not effect 'the bearer' of the force weapon. (well, unless the potential chance of a perils counts as 'effecting', something I'm not so clear on.) Ergo, the null rod should play nice with a force weapon.

I mean, i'd really 'like' null weapons to negate perils of the warp, but I think it is a bit beyond the scope of the weapons' special abilities.

null rods just make anything cast on the bearer unit not work,

"force" is not cast on anything, its just an activation test, it has no effect on the bearer unit,

so yes, null rods do actually work as intended as force weapons, nothing stops you from using powers, and force doesnt target anything, it just activates the weapon.
