Just got two heldrakes, one is already painted blue with silver lining, a purple tongue, and green glowing effects (I just like the colors).

The other one I am not sure where to begin, I am thinking green and silver as a base then blue for the glow, and finish the mouth with purple again. Or should I do a purple?

I don't want to do the typical red I've seen, black seems alright but over all what do you guys think?

the first thing you should do is post a picture of the helldrake ur done with so we can see what she looks like and work with that knowlage to give you some feedback what might pair well with it.

So I figured out how to post the pic. But the question now is what to do with the other heldrake? I am thinking do a chicken color scheme, sense everyone gives it the heel turkey name, and call it el pollo fuego, (I probably did not spell it right) meaning chicken fire!

There are two ways to go. Either you make your Heldrakes all look very similar, or you go and make them different. I went with different, and now I'm wondering if I should have made them more similiar. Anyway, there are always more models to play with.

I'd do a google image search and pick some ideas you like, you can then mix, match and adapt.

Yes! I loves those heldrakes! I looked at the blog, but there wasn't much said on the blue one. It's truley is beautiful.

Oh sorry. I thought the attention would be on the hot one. ;-]

The blue one is ridiculously simple. I painted the whole thing with Vallejo Model Air Blue and then did smaller and smaller areas with more and more white mixed into the blue. I just put the blue into a secondary container - I love plastic shot glasses for that - and added a few drops of white each round.

That creates a very cloudy blue surface with lighter bits in the middle. Then I painted the all the lines with a regular brush and Citadel Leadbelcher.

Both of these paintjobs use the strengths of airbrush for smooth transitions and those of brushes for clean lines.

Nice, I'll have to be sure to tell Santa to get me an air brush this year. I've been pretty decent.

I'd make them simular with subtle differences.
And weather them a bit....
They are good looing models. To bad they have no tail....
