ok, so I was considering playing IG after I finish up my marine armies. here is a list I want to eventually run, is it good? well, I realize the new codex may change things but atm. what do you guys think?

I think it lacks flavor and is a copy paste of many of the old lists in 5th edition. Also I can tell you now it might actually be somewhat effective this edition. Everyone I run into suddenly takes a second glance when they are dealing with AV14.

Overall, I like it! IG is definitely the most versatile army i'd say with 3 crazy play styles. Horde Infantry, Horde Armor, and Horde Air. I really like the 6 LR. With the way the game is played in 6th, AV 14 is a real problem. IG can mass it and mass it easy. The only problems I forsee you having is against Demons (But who doesn't :/) and anything rush oriented.

and AV 14 is a problem for anything not assault oriented... and who play assault armies besides me these days, (deamons excluded) haha!

It would be easier to just drop one vet squad to keep it at 2000. Yeah it would be kinda weak for scoring units, but the extra vendetta is a must with the number of sky fire weapons out there that will pop two vendettas in a single round.

Do you need all the melta? Might be nice to have a bit more effective 24" shooting from the Chimeras?

most of the tanks and the chimera themselves are anti infantry, w/ 4 large blasts and about 6 plasma blasts. plus the chimera multilasers. I need the melta for popping big heavy things.

Hm. Just so many of them? And the vendettas. You might be overcompensating in that area. I'd have thought two squads max with melts and the rest with plasma for popping light armour and TeQ. No?

Maybe to save points swap an executioner for a cheaper tank, something that would also compliment the executioner.
