I've recently got back into Warhammer, I mainly play Dark Elves, and want to complete a unit of the old metal executioners that I have. I've been looking for the metal ones rather than the new ones as I feel they'd look odd mixed in a unit together, and I've been offered some that have lost their swords.

I know their swords have a reputation for being incredibly hard to fix to the model, and that many people have converted them - but I can't for the life of me find any photos or how-tos now. I think one of the main fixes was using the tops of spears from the warrior kit as blades.

I'd just love to know if anyone has any photos or anything they can link to to show me what they'd look like, how hard it was to do, and whether they'd look ok mixed together with executioners that do have their original blades.

If there are any other conversions people have done or thought of I'd love to hear about them too.
Thanks!

I used the 'clipped tip' spearblades when I converted the IoB Swordmasters into Executioners, and they look okay in a mixed unit. But you might have a better look if you use grey two-part expoxy putty to duplicated the regular Executioner's swords instead.

Some of mine are converted using chaos marauder axes. It got them like this from a friend who had lost the blades, and it looks good imho.
And back in older editions, Executionners had axes instead of swords.

Regettably, no. I can either afford a camera, or Warhammer, not both.
