These are my first attempts at the Salamander paint scheme, I have held off abit on the shoulder pads as i am picking up forgeworld ones. Opinions, crit needed.

Its not about the type of weapon, its about how you use it.

I really like the green, no complaints there. I suppose it's not really a complaint but more as constructive criticism, the mud or dust on around their feet looks to uniform, you did an excellent job blending on it, but take 10 kids and have them jump in a mud puddle, not every single one is gonna look the same. My suggestion, take an old paint brush and dab the mud on, paint with a poking jesture, or do as some people do and basically flick paint on. I will do a step by step demonstration for you and post pics.

So put down your base, dark brown. Unless you wanted a reverse dried effect where the edges dried first then do a light brown. Also I apologize this was quick and on a napkin.

Then put your blending colors here just dab it around I did a single blend just to show you, didn't have time to dry.

Lastly your high light color, obviously the edges of armor plates and such does not need to be a straight even line. Just dab where you wanna see some light mud.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
The dabbing method will allow some green to come through and it gives an uneven look to the mud. Give it a shot, some people don't like it. But another technique in your painting arsenal never hurt. Good Luck and the Sallys look good!

Other than a mold line here and there, these look great,

An extra step could be to oil wash the green armour to black line (or dark green maybe) the panel edges

'Ain't nothing crazy about me but my brain. Right brain? Riight! No not you right brain! Right left brain? Right!... Okay then lets do this!!
